Hi there,
I was wondering if you could help. Does anybody know if it is possible to
commit suicide using xanax or some other (similar) medicine? Obviously I am
looking for an easy, painless, calm death.
Any ideas welcomed,
Sofia

I doubt that anyone here is going to help you commit suicide. Why don't you
stick around instead and talk to us about the things that are bothering you
enough to consider such a drastic action?

Hey sweetie,
why do you think that you'd be better off dead? Why do you feel that your
life is so bad?

Well-put my friend, it's just that "it would be better off dead". It is not
that life is unbearable or anything else that tragic. It would be
comforting to know that one can stop his life at will, if things get worse.
And I have an awful large quantity of xanax next to my bed..
thanks for caring though!!
(now which one would be the right group to post such a question?)

Hi there,

hello Sofia.

I was wondering if you could help.

This does indeed sound like a cry for help! You need more help than you can
get here, but it's not a bad place to start. Just be sure that you are also
getting help from a real life professional!!!
Does anybody know if it is possible to

commit suicide using xanax or some other (similar) medicine?

Yes, it is possible given the right mixture of other meds. But if someone
is determined to kill themselves, there are many ways besides Xanax. I'd
rather see you seeking help first rather than a way to commit suicide.
Obviously I am

looking for an easy, painless, calm death.

There are several of those. Only problem with them is that they are not
reversible. And later, when you feel better, it's too late to go back and
change your mind. If you get incredibly lucky, like I did, you survive in
spite of the odds against you, and you one day look back in gratitude that
your temporary torture didn't have a permanent ending.

Any ideas welcomed,
Sofia

Life is full of choices. Sometimes we have to choose to do the right thing
just because it's the right thing to do. And not because it's what we WANT
to do. Sometimes we have to choose to *live* simply because it's the right
thing to do, no matter how excrutiating it feels. No matter how badly we
want to die. But the excrutiating feelings pass, Sofia. And that is what
you must remember. They pass. Death does not. It's "forever."
Rooting for you!

Firstly just remember who you will leave behind to clear up the mess --
bills, funeral etc.
Secondly no one here will give you the advice you seek. I for one will pray
for you if you so wish it. Try telling people (even us on here) why you
want to take such a drastic measure.

Wrong group.
I don't think an easy painless death is attainable, really. Sorry to
disappoint you.
Why not stick around asd and talk about what got you in this place? Maybe
some of us can help in some way.

Xanax isn't going to work. I'm speaking from experience. There's something in
Xanax, and a lot of meds like it, that keep it from delivering a fatal dose.
There's only so much Xanax the body will absorb, and the rest, well, you'll
sweat, *****, *****, vomit, whatever ... the excess out. If you're like me,
you'll sleep for a whole day, or maybe two, but you'll be waking up from it.
Suicide is not easy, painless, or calm. For some reason, people think it's
easy, but it's not, and this adds to the list of "failures". But, it's really
not a failure - it's a chance to consider everyone involved - parents, lovers,
spouses, siblings, children, friends, roommates, etc. There is nothing I can
do to stop you, or change your mind if you're determined, but I will ask you,
just for today, please don't.

Thank you for saying this.
Old Coyote, it's taken me a lot of work to get here, and a lot of work still
ahead of me, and I'd be a fool to not acknowledge the much greater work and
efforts by those who wanted to help me, even when I had given up.
There was a time when I was making several attempts a year, so I know about
this kind of "failure". Spending 5 years in the oppressive stark bleakness
of Utica, with its poor doctors and poor care, was certainly a factor.
Leaving Utica was virtually impossible, as happens in such places of doom
and dread, but with a lot of help from others, [since I was incapable by
myslef] I managed to do it, and have been doing much better since. Even
when I was at the point of not caring at all, there were those who did, and
eventually, I began to and start to care, at least a little for myself.
Then it tool a lot of time to realize that, before I could help or care for
someone else, I had to be stable enough, and have to reserve enough extra
energy for me first. Then, what's left, I can use to help others, and not
feel totally drained in doing it. [This is still a toughie, because I still
tend to want to help far more than I'm capable of, and feel frustrated a lot
at my lack of being able to do anything. Fortunately, time is healing this
wound.]
Thanks again.

No problem, Cris. I've always enjoyed reading you. Keep on writing and
keep on living - and stay the hell away from Utica.

That's exactly the advice I give around here. "stay the hell away from
Utica" I haven't posted this in a while, but this was a photo-essay I did a
few years back, because somehow I knew things weren't quite the same there
as they are at other places.
