Object: Talked to my daughter
Guess my sister has been insulting me. My daughter mentioned that she
wishes I would adopt cuz she'd like to have a little brother or sister, my
sister says, Why, she didn't want kids anyway." My daughter tells her,
"*****, my mom is an excellent mother, works her ***** off for us, and
always wanted to have us."
Then my sister asks, "well how are things at home between you and your mom?"
My daughter tells her, "Things are great, now that mom has a new job, she's
home more and we don't run around and we spend a lot more time together."
My sister then says, "well at least she's being a mother again."
Just to name a couple...

What the hell? Tis the season for bitchy sisters, I guess. It's bad enough
when someone runs down a parent to their child, but to gratuitously do that
to your own sister -- gawd. I bet your daughter was pissed!

Oh yeah, she told me, if she ever goes back to visit again, she doesn't want
to stay with my sister,or my mom. Guess like me, she'll appreciate my dad
and step mother more. I expected this from my mother not my sister, but oh
well. It didn't bring me down, it's the norm from my family.

Er.. that's not good. I'd be telling your sister is she has something
to say about you she'd best tell you to her face, and not be a coward
talking about your to your own daughter.
For that matter, maybe the little lady shouldn't spend so much time
with Aunt Meanie... ;)

relax. your daughter knows.
give her a hug and thank her for believing in you. acknowledge that she
stood by you and stood up to her aunt.

Oh yeah for some reason it didn't really phase me or surprise me. We talked
about it before she left, we both had a feeling my "mother" would be the one
to say something. Hell I guess my mom was really cool even bought me a
present?!
I look at it this way, my sister is jealous because I chose to get married
young, and have my children young. When I'm 42 1/2 my youngest will be 18.
My sister is 44 and her youngest is 4. I've lived in several different
states, traveled, met a lot of interesting people, and tend to be
adventurous. She's been in the same job for about 20 years, the same life
for ever, never lived anywhere other then the same town. She's even made
comments to me that she wishes she could be "braver" like me and adventure
out into life more. It's not bravery for me it's just the way it is. She
didn't get that.
So now that my being a care giver to my children is about to change around,
my son already takes care of me in a way, he stayed home last night because
he felt bad that I'd be home alone on New Years Eve and didn't want me to
bum out, so we shared glasses of Champagne and laughs. Her son is about to
start school, maybe it's resentment I don't know.
The only thing that bugs me is why she would say "She never wanted children"
I've always wanted kids, I even wanted 6, cancer changed that for me. I
guess no matter how hard I try, my family will never know me.
