Two more pieces of tooth just chipped off in my mouth. I've got to do
something about this tardive dyskenisia and jaw locking. I wish they
hadn't cut dental out of medicaid here. I don't have enough money to see
a dentist.

You can get a gum shield (from a dentist, not a sports supply shop is
better) that stops your teeth grinding. Judging by the discussion of
them here, they're usually worn at night only.

they're very expensive. hundreds of dollars. my dentist wanted
me to have one, but insurance wouldn't pay and joe said i'm not
grinding my teeth in my sleep anymore.

I keep forgetting how much health services costs over there.

Keep in mind that's offset to whatever degree by the lower cost of
virtually everything else over here. My dad had a friend from Norway,
they would load up on clothing everytime they visited because it was so
much cheaper here.

I think it must be nice to have almost free petrol. When I get over
there, I'm going to start in Florida, rent a big-to-me car and drive up
to Massachusetts, staying in sleazy motels, to see if the ambience lives
down to the films. And no, I won't be eating hamburgers. There are
limits.
I haven't worked out how I'm getting to Montreal yet; in Europe, you
can't generally take hired cars across national boundaries, though it's
been a while since I last checked. The idea is to check the car in up
north and fly back from there.
I'll do it someday, when the credit cards are empty, and I'm not feeling
paranoid about the US government knowing more about me than my own does.
And that's just to get on the aeroplane; who knows what the visa
application's like these days.
BTW, I have all the clothes I need.

It actually doesn't hurt at all. Just a surprise that there's a broken
piece of tooth on my tongue.
