Object: testing st john's wort
i started taking st john's wort today, and at the same time stopped taking
lexapro (i was only taking a very low dose, 5 mg/day). so far, i haven't
experienced any side effects of sjw. my mood hasn't changed noticeably
either, and i haven't felt any withdrawal symptoms from stopping lexapro.
of course, it's far too early to draw any conclusions.

be sure and take the right dosage of st john's wort (3 a day of the 300 mg
variety) and be sure it's standardized to 0.3 percent hypericin. you may
already know all of that, but i just wanted to be sure you got the best
chance of it helping you. it works fairly well for mild to moderate
depression, but isn't effective in severe cases. give it a few weeks to
kick in.
good luck. i hope it works for you!

thanks. yes, i am taking 3 x 300 mg a day, "standardized".
today, the second day, i felt slightly dizzy (a common symptom of lexapro
withdrawal), but otherwise ok. no noticeable side effects of st john's wort
yet, and my mood hasn't changed either.
