Transportation costs are tough, though.
Very interesting! I presume that "diamond" is being used pretty
loosely here. The cores of white dwarf stars are made up of degenerate
matter, a phase intermediate between normal matter and neutronium, and
it wouldn't really qualify as "diamon" even if the nuclei were mostly
carbon. I'd guess the real "diamond" part is a shell, overlaying the
degenerate core.
No facets, though.

Well, thanks, but I didn't coin "neutronium." It's been around for
decades. Neutron stars are made of neutronium, meaning closely-packed
neutrons.
