The Last Samurai |
x-no-archive: yes
I really liked this movie.
Among other things, it had a bunch of very interesting looking and
attractive people in it--including the most beautiful woman in the world.

Yes, he was one of them.
But I was thinking equally of Koyuki, who is beautiful beyond words, and a
bunch of Japanese men: especially Ken Watanabe but also Hiroyuki Sanada and
Shin Koyamada.
Compelling characters and relationships. A compelling myth.
ps Yuki--isn't that the same root as your name, Miyuki? Snow, I think, yes?

Ah yes, yet another feel about diversity movie.
A whole bunch of them out the last few years, "Look at how kewl the
diverse are"
Well ugly reality is, well ugly, the fact is all the Samurai are no
more, their third world way of life crushed under a western boot and
the remains ground into the mire where they belong.
The west use to have it right, crush every thing that is not like us
into the dirt, humiliate, scoff, stomp, etc till there is nothing
left, we seem to have forgotten, and now your eastern crap is
corrupting our more perfect way of life.
as for the Eastern warriors, good riddens ARE not missed.
