there are a few threads that i gotta avoid. much too much negativity, hate,
hostility. sniping. etc. - It's making me feel down. Yes, I know, what gets
said on the internet should NEVER make one feel bad, but, it's difficult, as
many of you already know all too well. I'm feeling just a tad depressed
cause of this. I wish I could block out the negative threads. too late. I
gotta focus on the positive stuff, which outweighs the negative, right?
right???

overall, I have mixed feelings about it... On one hand I often find
conflicts very draining emotionally, paticularly if I'm participating
in the argument... On the other hand, I often think of ASD as a kind of
journal, a place to not only talk to people and get feedback, and give
support, but work through various issues... at least some conflict goes
with the territory, and it does, maybe, help you better deal with
conflict in real life... One thing I've noticed is that when I have a
better sense of perspective, proportion and context, when I'm feeling
more detached, I can kind of laugh at everything, even the conflicts,
and of course being detached can bring new insights, help you see
things more clearly... (though it also has it's drawbacks as well) When
I'm not at all detached... that's when it's the most difficult
emotionally... as with everything, it's very tough to find the right
balance of taking things seriously, but not too seriously...
