i know because this morning ,
all the digital clocks are flashing and ,
its making me totally mental

The power went off half an hour ago. I'm chasing Wynne to do his end of
term college work, so I suppose I'll have to do the VCRs and microwave
myself.

Only the clock on my stereo does that. The others either have battery
backup, or they set themselves.

Only the clock on my stereo does that. The others either have battery
backup, or they set themselves.
My VCR does that, it sets itself to the time from PBS in the vertical
blanking interval. It's interesting how DVD players have shed the
blinking 12:00.

Mine bedroom alarm clocks run perfect when they're on AC (probably
synchronized by the AC hz), but they go totally apeshit when on battery
power. Even when they're fresh, new 9 volts.

That's why I keep a battery operated alarm and also an analog alarm
clock. Of course I usually turn them off and go back to bed, but at
least I won't sleep in due to not having an alarm.

That's why I keep a battery operated alarm and also an analog alarm

because power losses are a common thing here ,
i keep well prepared with battery radios and flashlights ,
there are two battery powered clocks too ,
but i really should invest in a generator
.
