The RE taxes are unreal here |
Everthing went up maybe 10%, but the tax due went up about 25% IN 1
YEAR!!!
Christ, you cant even afford to live here.

While out of town I was comparing the cost of living here in South Florida
vs Tulsa and man what a difference. A two bedroom apartment in Tulsa was
like $460.00 south Florida about $1100.00

We had three succesive years of 30% increase, and the comunity college
wanted to add another 30% on top of that. that's what led to Prop. 13
in California. Our increases are limited now.

wanted to add another 30% on top of that. that's what led to Prop. 13
in California. Our increases are limited now.
There needs to be something done about this. People 10 minuits away pay
half the new amount, and they have way better houses. They must think
that everybody who lives near the hospital are rich. Yeah, actually it
IS about 30% increase, the damned thieves.

That's the way it was here, tract homes went up each year, the nicer
custom homes went up, maybe, once a decade or so. cheaper houses paid
a lot more in taxes than the expensive ones.

They just raised them in the nearby city by 7.5% for the 3rd year in a
row. Fortunately I live in the county so I don't have to pay that and
the county taxes have been the same for a while now - all the new
housing developers have been paying it for us. That's going to change
soon though as all the cities are clamping down on growth.
