That's putting it mildly, at least as far as I am concerned.
I need to take some action on clothing and laundry.

It's been ok. I haven't been out today, too sunny for me. I'm more

you're getting on "everyones" nerves. But sometimes "everyones" annoyed

This is a lesson in Usenet group dynamics. Harping at posters who
incessantly annoy you doesn't make them go away; it only promotes
antagonism. % isn't gonna stop posting here. People whose posts we
routinely dislike aren't gonna go away no matter how much we flame them.
What to do? Ignore. Killfile if need be. It's harder to ignore or avoid

We're all in pain here. We're all mentally ill here. % is no exception.

killfile if needed. Just my unsolicited 2¢.

Ah, "Herd School" is back in session. OK, settle down, kids.

Harping at posters who incessantly annoy you doesn't make them go
away; it only promotes antagonism.

I did a quick scan on my server and I see no "harping" on the part of
this person regarding "Persent", just this single post, just this
single question, which strikes me as a perfectly reasonable one.
Instead of immediately adopting the ritual "we're all the same here" /
nothing will change this guy" posture, it might have been interesting
to see if the question managed to elicit a genuine answer.
To the original poster, I would offer *my* answer, "Yes, he does. He is
the self-proclaimed '*****' of ASD and takes a perverse pride in
that". Make of it what you will.

Thoughtful, introspective, open-minded, willing to engage an even harsh
critic is there is possible constructive criticism to be had. Sincere,
engaging, benevolent, honest, informative. The kind of answer that
leaves the asker feeling embarrassed by their initial harsh tone and
appreciative of the respect with which they were treated.

Nick, I understand your point and to some extent agree, but just as in
real life I'm not going to put up with some BS directed towards me or
someone else, the same thing goes here. I think you might be in the
minority that doesn't wonder if he posts here because he gets off on
getting on other people's nerves, or doesn't have question some of
what he says. Maybe you do question some things he says, I don't
know, but if you do I really don't see you speaking up about that,
only to defend % on some level.
Sometimes ignoring is the best route for me to go, and sometimes
saying what I want to say and what I need to say serves me best.
Honeybearxo is not asking any questions that I'm sure others have
asked, including myself. Just because it doesn't bother you what he
says and that you have benefitted from him doesn't mean that everyone
shares your experience or opinion. He speaks about me as if I've done
something to deserve some of his criticisms, which I don't think I
have. What I have said about him is in direct correlation to the way
he has behaved towards me and how he behaves on this group. So, while
I think you're advice is good, it's not in everyone's best interest to
simply ignore and killfile. It's not that I like to argue, I hate
conflict, but sometimes it's necessary. I don't suspect that anything
I ever say will have any impact on % whatsoever, but when I feel
inclined to, I'm gonna speak up anyways, because I need to.
And as often as has been said her, mental illness is no excuse for
anyone to treat someone else crappy. I never said he "didn't belong
here" but he sure needs to grow up and stop being such a bully. Just
my unsolicited 2 cents, said in sincerity.

No problem. Just that it was a newbie going after Dave twice in the same
thread. I'm not sure it's such a hot idea picking a tussle with someone
when it's your first day posting on the group. So I made my
recommendation. I pretty much work hard at following it these days. And
I'm of the mind it might be a good policy for a newbie to follow, at
least for a while, until said newbie finds his/her own voice within the
dynamics of the group.
If this were a RL face-to-face
everyone-in-everyone-else's-physical-proximity situation, it would be
expected for a newcomer to the dynamic to comport his-/her-self
similarly. Usenet accomodates non-reaction simply through killfiles, or
at least training oneself to ignore the posts of certain subscribers.
I'm gonna backtrack here, and restructure my idea to the point that
those familiar with both the group and the persons who regularly post to
it might well find my above advice stifling. Once you and the rest have
gotten to know one another, the communication will and should naturally
change with the increased familiarity. But I feel that what I suggested
is sound advice for a newbie to heed. Flaming a regular on one's first
day of posting...imprudent IMO.

I'm not sure it's such a hot idea picking a tussle with someone
when it's your first day posting on the group.

I just wrote this to Rose but I'll say it to you here now, and I really
hope you can take it in the sincere spirit with which it is offered:
given how bad you're currently feeling (according at least to that one
post), this might not be the best time FOR YOU to be jumping into this
particular fray, or potential fray. You know how nasty it can get, and
"someone" can certainly take care of himself without you subjecting
yourself to the Storms of Arrakis.

P.S. -- Re: "Flaming a regular on one's first day of posting..." I find
posts from this handle going back nearly two years on ASD.

You know, by doing this, you're just perpetuating the big game *as* a
big game, nullifying anything else you might have had to say about it.
You sound like a critic at times, and I know you're sincere at those
times, but then you come back to this mode and you just sound like a
straight man (and I don't mean the kind that God doesn't hate), keeping
the ***** flowing, dressing the set for the next performance.

Sometimes no one can 'get it right'. He's just replying according to
what he thinks and feels, which I believe is genuine. I think he goes
through periods where he's absolutely fed up with and sick of him, and
then other times when he figures why bother, he doesn't get it
anyways, and nothing he says is going to change that. I have some
understanding, I think, what you're talking about, and well, I'll let
Thor speak for himself. I just don't think it's as simple as you're
making it sound.
