My soundcard has something called EAX that lets me sound like a chipmunk
or a robot and some other stuff to play with.

Oh, I thought you meant voicemail. The long distance thing, both people
have to have the software. Go to http://www.netzerovoice.com, Click
'Sign up Now', fill in the information, then on the next page scroll all
the way to the bottom and choose NetZero Voice Free, on the next page
scroll down and click where it says 'click here to download the latest
software', download it and install it, and then login to it, and you can
call from there to the other person's computer.

I switched to Comcast's free long distance service recently. I lost my
cell phone on my trip to Mexico and when I went to the store to get a
replacement I got to talking phones with the guy at the store and he was
cool enough to change the terms of our account. So I was able to call in
and get the plan downgraded without incurring a penalty charge. So we
now have a land line for the first time in about a year and a half. It
works well, I've only had to call somebody back twice now because it was
a lousy sounding connection.

The package that we have gives us free long distance. I don't know
exactly what Qwest charges, but just about everybody is cheaper than them.

Yea. Once I had it setup so it would change my voice into a girl voice.

You're pretty brave to install the full range of Creative
software...good god how I hate that company. If only they didn't kill
off everybody else in the market.
