I am. I'm thinking about going to the next level with it too. I've been
looking at Glasair and Lancair "projects" that dudes have more or less
given up on. Some bargains out there if a guy has a little cash.

I flew a Piper PA-12 wth a guy the day after Christmas on a pipeline
patrol. 3.5 hours of bliss averaging 100 ft above the terrain. I used
to be ground certified, but because of the $$$ associated with flying, I
um, never really got off the ground with it. But the passion is always
there.
any good resources you can hook
me up with?
I'd start with your local EAA chapter (Experimental Aircraft Assoc) in
your area. All those guys love talking about flying. It won't be long
and guys'll be fighting to take ya up, especially if you hang out at the
hangars and help with the building or primping. Given the proximity of
the base and all of the concomitant flyboys, that would be an extremely
target rich environment, imo. They all love to build and fly all kinds
of crafts. I was looking at gyros the other day... that might be a good
place for me to get my own craft because of $$$. A guy can get one of
those and at least start flying for around 1,500+ and some training. I'm
seriously considering that for the spring
i realised ive been abusive in the past, so i understand
if you have no interest in helping, but id appreciate any i can
get,,not anyone i know is into this sort of hobbie.
Consider this part of your slice of internet heaven. It's usenet. I try
not to take the flames seriously.
..a guy my dad knew
in laramie, killed himself on his.
What was he flying? And do you have an approx. date? I'd like to look
it up.
..everyone in the fam thinks im nuts
to persue it, but if i go out, i want to go out haven a blast doing
what i love, not by drugs and alcohol, cancer, or any long term pain
debilitating disease.
Bingo. It's literal flying over and above the abuse and problems below,
but it can be just as addictive. My family is the same way, but the kids
don't seem to mind too much. Of course, they don't know that I fly w/o
life insurance. ;)
..im rambling..and once again. i sincerely
apologise -=OC=-.
'salright.

From what I can see, it looks like it would sound like an endless loop of
the "We Will Rock You" riff...or the extend mix of "Rock Me Amadeus". Now
I'll have 80s flashbacks all night. Ack!
