today is backup day |
The SCSI (2x 15k 18GB) C: stripe will be ghosted to an IDE standing by. The
2 120 SATA Seagates will have their contents transferred to a 4x120 0+1 RAID
on the archive server. The Powerbook is cloning onto an external firewire
enclosure right now. All *data* (OS reinstall would be needed on if drive
failed) is being copied from other machines to archive server as well.
Even with this much storage I'm running low. Going to have to start saving
for some bigger drives, which even though they're cheap it starts adding up
when you need redundancy.
Perhaps I'll just have to give in and get a SATA controller that can do
proper RAID 5.
