Many fundamentalists [of ALL religions] mistake the attainment of
a subtle astral level, or an earthly paradise, as being the goal of
religion. These subtle realms, no matter how enchanting, are
ultimately just another phenomenal level of existence, subject to
the laws of duality and hence more cycles of transient happiness
and suffering [even if very subtle]. This truth was echoed when
Christ said "heaven and earth shall pass away." Awareness of
such worlds is no substitute for attainment of God
Consciousness.
Of course religions have lost their original understanding of the
real salvation and enlightenment.

Well...they've kept one foot in the world, that's true. But I wonder
whether that's a mistake.
And how we would know it's a mistake even if it was.
