Object: Trying Not to Crash
Woke up this morning to an enmail from him curtly telling me that he withdrew
from the conference that might accept my paper. That is good. The curtness and
dismissveness of the rest of the email, however, hurt.
His wife has left him and the children are with her. He blames me and is very
clear that I should have been stronger (his words) and not fallen apart as a
result of the hitting and insane mind games. He reminds me in a steely voice
that he never claimed to be a good man. . .
No matter what my reason tells me, my heart shatters in face of his anger and
hatefulness. And I stop functioning. it has been 7 years since he left me and
the breakdown and still, I break apart when we have contact. I ddon't respect
myself for this. Not at all.
First day today teaching and that helped. To see those bright eager faces just
fills me up. Went well. Now just fighting to sit up, so to speak, and do my
work without drifting into pained stillness. We have agreed to no contact, and
I hope -- in time -- that helps though I cannot help but miss his turn of
phrase and deep sultry voice. I am sick.

Can you block e-mails from people you don't want to get them from?

Sounds like a very good start :))

Chin up Rosena, you are a highly intelligent and interesting person, you
dont need this man's approval to validate you. I know it must be hard, but
how about telling him to go take a hike and get on with your life, you and
Maria....you are a better person than you give yourself credit for.
