Object: tuna casserole
is for dinner tonight. my 10-yr-old wanted to cook dinner
himself, and that seemed easy enough. he's chopping celery now.
this month, he wants to be a chef when he grows up.

Cool! Are there cooking classes for kids in your area? Maybe the two of
you could take one together.

there aren't any classes that i know of. he helps his dad as a
prep cook or grill turner most nights, and he and i bake
together. he can bake pretty much anything by himself, but he
likes the company.

Encourage that...this was a good friend of mine in high school:

of St. Louis' most renowned chefs. And chicks dig a good cook.

i woke up one saturday morning to him pulling a batch of walnut
crescent cookies out of the oven. he loves to cook. he'll
certainly enjoy it at least as a hobby for life, i think.
