unfortunately |
being numb makes it that much more likely that i do something
that i'll regret later. nothing feels like it has much
consequence now, though i remember that's not how i felt this
morning.

i know what you mean. that's my concern. i think i'll always
uphold my implicit contract with my kids to be here, but i might
not care for a little too long.

I'm not contracting anymore, considering the prior outcomes
but there is one case I know of that I would...

I don't know if it would happen, tho
and I'm not in any rush to find-out...

I keep reminding myself to not take it seriously. Not at all...
The feelings are real but the ability to do much about them
isn't. I want them to end and I never want them to stop... go figure.

that's my problem. nothing seems too important. i can't take
anything too seiously right now. i think it's not going to stop,
at least not for a long time. too deeply embedded.

that's one of my things too. if i can't get the bad stuff to stop, i
usually just end up going nuts.

Have you tried thinking of something fairly meaningless & safe? To
"block" bad thoughts? I do that to fall asleep sometimes, saying a
word/short phrase over and over in my head while at the same time
imagining a visual pattern like a rotating spiral, waves or similar.
Keeps my mind occupied so I can't think about problems, but it's so
boring I fall asleep. If falling asleep is not the goal, reciting
poetry, songs, multiplication tables etc. in my head can do the same
trick. Trying to "not think of something" is difficult. (Everybody:
_don't_ think about pink elephants!)
