Oatmeal's come a long way. Was it the kind in the pouches with
flavors like cinimmon apple...just add hot water and done.

Oatmeal's come a long way. Was it the kind in the pouches
with flavors like cinimmon apple...just add hot water and
done.
nope, it was old-fashioned real oatmeal. i made it with powdered
non-fat milk to give it more calcium and a few walnuts for
crunch. added a little maple syrup and real milk. much better
than that instant stuff.

life's all about convenience and instant and quality is gone isn't
it...now they market breakfast bars as "oatmeal to go", it's kinda
sad. my mom used to take the time to make me all kinds of good
breakfasts before school, french toast, eggs and bacon, pancakes

to go", it's kinda sad. my mom used to take the time to
make me all kinds of good breakfasts before school, french

my mom did, too, but she wasn't getting ready to go to work at
the same time. joe sometimes makes french toast for our
younger son, or he makes it himself.
oatmeal cooks in 2 minutes in the microwave if you use regular
oats instead of quick oats. making it 'just add boiling
water' doesn't save much time.
