Update on My Bosses Daughter (sp: cancer/child/bad news) |
The news got much worse with some scan results Saturday...she's 3 and
the cancer has now invaded the left lung which is filled with fluid
and not functioning and the pulminary artery...
the doctors have given her approximately 6 weeks or less, they taken
her off all meds except of course the pain meds...she is enjoying
being a big sister though as her mother gave birth a week ago today
email me if you are interested in reading his website with daily
updates and photos, it is an emotional investment but a powerful
testament to faith and life affirmation, I am not very religious but
this family is and it is impressive to see how they are coping...

They will appreciate that..we had a counselor lead a session at the
office this morning which was very helpful. It's not really what you
say or how you say it or whether you botch it or sound awkward, its
just that you're there (this was specific to a question about the
funeral and the proper condolensces to offer). I'm kind of known for
blurting out inappropirate things at the office at the horror of HR
and amusement of the boss. They said I'm sure to do the same at the
worst time at the visitation or funeral so just not to worry...

i am at a loss. i can't even begin to imagine the pain with the imminent
death of my child.
kid annoyed me today with a hissy fit over socks or her shirt .. who the
hell knows. i yelled.
now all i want to tdo is just go hug her and not put her down.

So very sad. You're a good friend to
keep your heart open to this. A lot of
people run and hide, emotionally, in the
face of kids with fatal cancers. If it
is her time, I hope the passing is as
peaceful as possible.

OMG, I am so sorry to hear of this family's tragedy. How awful! Are
they participating in some kind of Making a Wish Foundation or
something like that, that might be able to provide some kind of
positive opportunity to do something she wants to do while she is
still here? Gawd, my post partum depression was so severe, I think if
I was dealing with this scenario around the birth of my child I would
literally go over the edge, though I already feel that I'm there atm
anyways. Again, I am so sorry, and it sounds like you are doing what
you can to be supportive and helpful. I would normally accept the
opportunity to find out more about this family, look at their photos,
etc, but right now I think I need to pass...I think it would just be
more overload than I can take atm. I'll be thinking about you though,
and this situation. Take care...
