The transit has started, but it's cloudy here.

Lots of high cloud and London haze here too; can't get a clear view. Too
damned hot to make much of an effort.

Or stand with your back to the sun, and use a pocket telescope or
monocular or binoculars to project an image onto a piece of card or paper.
If there's time, you could rig up a fancy 'viewer' that way, with a frame
to hold the telescope and card, and a 'hood' to shade the viewing card, to
make things easier. You can even photograph the image on the card (don't
use flash!). The same rig can be used to view sunspots.

Or use a hand mirror and cardboard/heavy paper. Cut a round
hole with about a half inch diameter in the center of the
cardboard/heavy paper. Tape the cardboard/heavy paper onto
the shiny side of the mirror. Reflect the sun's image onto
some white surface.
