Want to know what a boring life I lead? |
Highlights of my day are:
1. Taking delivery of my new freezer, Christmas gift from Bruce (my
request).
2. Watching March of the Penguins with Bruce. Awesome!
Those two things excited me to no end :-) I'm either old, boring, or easily
amused. All of the above?
So how is everyone today?

I also have been dealing with penguins. They are Linux distros. I wonder if
the film is about linuxes. Just being extremely silly. ;o)

i am reading this today, are you asking about my yesterday or my today?
yesterday:
caught up on "Celebrity Big Brother" (have decided that there is a bit
of poor-white trash in me which needs satisfying)
made Fleischwurstsalat for lunch.
made crouton salad to take to friends for bowling/lunch.
went to Hamburg, bowled, hurt my arm.
had lunch with friends. came home.
caught up on my soaps and CBB.
went to bed
today:
watch TV
crashed on couch
ate lunch at 10am
crashed in bed
got up at 2 when Alu's mother dropped off mail
did this
going back to TV
if the sun doesn't shine soon i will have to kill.

Oh I like this, all except the arm hurting bit. Does it feel better or
worse today?

Now that sounds like one of my days! BTW, what is Fleischwurstsalat? It
sounds good!

I hate having come into existence and curse having woken up today...but
that's baseline.
Apart from that, today is unremarkable: wash the dishes, watch a bit of
TV, spend most of the day at the computer, read a bit, and do basic
things like brush teeth. Looking forward to going to sleep. Tomorrow,
there will be mail again. Otherwise, repeat the tape.
I typically don't mind boredom, because excitement usually brings
something unwelcome, like an accident or bad news. Boredom is the sort
of thing that can build up and become a "cause" of unwise choices that
in turn produce excitement; that's the problematic side of boredom.

I hope that gets better for you, because it certainly sucks.

Understood. I'm actually basking in boredom at the moment. I had many,
many years of constant work and issues of all sorts that just drained the
life out of me. Rest and boredom are helping me heal from all the years of
overwork and abuse. Eventually though, balance will come into play for me.
I hope it does for you too.

I forgot. No mail tomorrow for us, either. So...same old same old. Maybe we should form an ASD Treehouse and call it The Bored Ones? TBO, for short--naw, maybe that would get us into copyright trouble. Isn't that the way: you come up with a swell idea, and it's illegal.

Sleep, read. Today I went down to see my friend who runs the nursery,
listened to him complain for a while, remembered why I like living
alone.
rebuilt the light for one of my aquariums, read the newsgroups and a
couple web sites I like. There's a lot more to do here, if I weren't

Yes, I get out. But my landlord complained that my puppy makes too much
noise when I go out. I would go out when everybody is working, but my
neighbour just upstairs (1 apartment per floor) is a psychologist and he
treats people during the day. Bad luck, huh? So, I eat out on the week ends.

So you have to stay inside the apartment five days a week? You are
being kept a prisoner by your dog?

Trapped by canine 9-5. It's a good thing he looked into how compatible

Highlights of my day are:
1. Taking delivery of my new freezer, Christmas gift from Bruce (my

2. Watching March of the Penguins with Bruce. Awesome!
Those two things excited me to no end :-) I'm either old, boring, or
easily
amused. All of the above?
So how is everyone today?
I hate having come into existence and curse having woken up
today...but
that's baseline.
Apart from that, today is unremarkable: wash the dishes, watch a bit
of
TV, spend most of the day at the computer, read a bit, and do basic
things like brush teeth. Looking forward to going to sleep.
Tomorrow,
there will be mail again. Otherwise, repeat the tape.
I typically don't mind boredom, because excitement usually brings
something unwelcome, like an accident or bad news. Boredom is the
sort
of thing that can build up and become a "cause" of unwise choices that
in turn produce excitement; that's the problematic side of boredom.
Do you want to know what is boredom in a nutshell? Retirement!
My experience is different.
Glad to hear that. Would you share your formula? What is what you do that
you do not get bored?
Sleep, read. Today I went down to see my friend who runs the nursery,
listened to him complain for a while, remembered why I like living
alone.
rebuilt the light for one of my aquariums, read the newsgroups and a
couple web sites I like. There's a lot more to do here, if I weren't
so lazy.
What I really have is tiredness. I've been working with my computers, and
sometimes I over do it. I am also very lazy, but there are plenty of things
for me to do.
do you get out? I make it a point to eat out at least once a day,
minimal contact with other people.
He makes a point of installing at least one operating system on an old
486 every day.

We have traveled different paths here in ASD, and I recommend that it should
keep being the same. Do not try to be smart with me, because surely we are
not going to like the end result. So, behave, and good luck.

I've seen what happens when people try to get smart with you. So good luck.

I've wanted to see that movie. I take it that it must have arrived on DVD.

Yep, and worth all the praise it received.
