as you drive to work?
I don't drive to work, I take a shower and go downstairs.
What do I think about in the shower?
Usually... how much conditioner will I need on my hair today to get it to
behave.
Sometimes I just want to go with a crew cut so I don't have to fuss with my
hair.
Then again, all men will think I'm gay if I did that.

i had mine cut down to no more than two inches on top (less on
the sides) for several years. got lots of compliments from men
and women, many of whom i didn't know. it was super-easy,
especially for hair that also won't behave. wash, dry, toussel
(or however you spell that word).
just started growing it out again, though. something
different. back to conditioner, anti-frizz, etc. <sigh>

I had it short like that too, got compliments and all, when I was married.
Then when I became single, all I would heart is, short hair - I Think she's
gay.
[eyeroll]
Yeah, my ex roommate has pretty short hair, not super short, but a bob-cut.
I had people coming up to me and asking if she a gay.

as you drive to work?
this is drive-to-workism.
Since I don't drive to work, I'll describe my pre-work routine.
Get up, turn on computer, dog is freaking out. Stumble towards leash and coat,
plug in kettle, take dog for walk, grab paper on the way out and read it at the
picnic table as dog ambles.
When I get back I make coffee. Then I go and brush my teeth and etc. Out of
bathroom the coffee is ready to be plunged, so I take the plunge, pour the
coffee, add cream and equal, bring it over to my desk and voila. I'm at work.
When work is over is when my driving begins. Pick up kid at football practice,
drive two of his friends home as well. Sometimes pick up daughter after work at
9:20, depending.
Thanks for asking :)

since you mentioned driving... I'm starting to be a 'substitute driver' for
my boyfriends teenagers about once or twice a week.
Totally new experience for me.
Make sure they're fed and have all the gear they need. Turns out it's not
'cool' to be eating lunch at school, so by the time school is out, around
2:30, they're starving, especially the 16 year old daughter. Ahh, the
pressures of being popular!

Wow! I miss all the morning chaos because I'm in to work
early. I'm not quite sure how my better half manages to get
everyone where they need to be. When I read histories about
them moving these huge armies, I'm always amazed. I can
hardly get a family of four anywhere on time with gear. But
you skillfully dodged my question, this is what you do, not
what you think about. ;-)

I don't work but I do have to drive my little guy to school everyday and pick
him up everyday---still work but not a regular 9-5.
I am usually thinking about all the things I want to accomplish in the course
of the day but mostly and this sucks so much---I am thinking about how fast I
can get back home and crawl on the couch to sleep.
During the afternoon I am thinking about all the things I didn't accomplish
because I slept my ***** off most of the day and having a fit cause I know I
won't have the time to do it all.

You're one up on me, I find I don't think of anything at
all. It's 15 dead minutes in my day silently stolen. The
funny thing is, even if I turn on the news, I couldn't tell
you what they said, just total autopilot. Friday I am
determined to think something memorable.

Used to think about driving into oncoming traffic. Or taking an

Taking an alternate turn... I remember that well from High
School. I would reach the off-ramp and there was always
this moment of truth, do I turn the wheel, or shoot past to
'something else'? Junior year I almost never succumbed,
senior year I almost always did.

I don't. Think, drive, work, mostly one out of three, sometimes less.

I hear ya, today I even had pre thought out topics to think
about, and I remember thinking about them just before
getting to my car, but the last thing I remember is opening
the door handle to get in, then parking at work, it's weird.

i don't work, but i drive lots, since i live in the middle of
nowhere.
i've been dissociating too much as i drive. almost missed a turn
yesterday because i didn't realise i'd already gone over a very
large bridge on the highway.
