If you just need to lube the chain, try silicone spray, it lasts
longer.

well the saw has a little reservoir on it for the oil ,
so I can see when its running out , with the silicon ,
it would be a little harder to tell but i guess it could work
.

Oh, dammit, this is a trick question! I started thinking "gas-powered
lawnmowers. The answer is "you don't put oil in an electric
chainsaw". My mom only bought electric lawnmowers. No mixing
anything, lots of chopping up extension cords.

Almost right, I use chain oil in my electric chain saw, same kind that
would be used for the chain on a gas powered chain saw. The blade
still needs oil.

Yes, but chain oil costs more. I always just used 30 weight, or 5w30 on
both gas and electric chains. Just dont put it in the gas tank! Use
ONLY good 2 cycle oil as a fuel mix.

No, you do, and its only for the bar the chain rides on. And you was
right, 5w30 will work ok, but straight 30 weight is recommended, at
least for mine. Then there is Bar Oil, but it costs alot, and is about
the same as 30 weight. 10w40 will also work in a pinch, but it will
wear the bar and chain faster, because it is thinner.
