Whoddathunkit? |
x-no-archive: yes
One of my favorite times of the day is holding her up to the tap in the
bathroom so that she can wash her hands before dinner.
In the right mood, she's ticklish, and if I rub my nose against the ribs on
her back when she's in one of those moods, she breaks into these
uncontrollable peals of laughter.
Pure magic.
The effect on my business continues to be phenomenal and totally unexpected.
In the last four months, I've billed more than I did in the entire year, the
year before last.
Another of my favorite times is getting home from work. She's always by the
back door to the kitchen, which is at the top of the stairs that lead up
from the carport. I can hear her there, babbling away excitedly as I come
up the steps, and she goes nuts when I open the door, runs around in
circles, as though she doesn't know what to do with herself, though we
always end up in the same place: on the floor, by the doorway into the
kitchen, I, in my boxer shorts and T-shirt, she, in her diaper, playing,
together, with her blocks or her puzzles.
Tonight, she insisted that some blue pieces of this plastic construction set
that she has are green, even though she knew they weren't. "Geen!" "Blue."
"Geen!" "Blue." "Geen!" ...
She did this just because she thought it was funny. She thinks of herself
as highly amusing, and I often catch her chuckling at something that she's
done that she thinks is particularly funny.
So whoddathunk that my bestest girlfriend would turn out to be 32 inches
tall?
Sometimes my heart just doesn't feel big enough to hold all the love I feel
for her.

If only that were true. Sadly, it is not. I'm very glad for you and yours
that you have no doubts about it; for some of us our experiences have been
very very different - not necessarily *bad* even, just nowhere near as *good*.

If laughter is the best medicine,
then kittens should be covered by our health insurance. :-)
