I just felt like doing another translation. It absolutely stinks, though. The original was very simple but (IMHO) quite beautiful; my rendering doesn't even come close :(
Another classic, this time from the late '80s.
Some people may find it too sweet for their palates. It all depends on your mood, I reckon. Anyway, it has sugar, but there's not too much of it.
Oh, yeah. It's about lesbianism. Just in case you're easily offended or anything.

Mujer contra mujer (J.M. Cano) Woman Against Woman
Nada tienen de especial, There's nothing odd
dos mujeres que se dan la mano in two women holding hands
el matiz viene después the nuance comes afterwards
cuando lo hacen por debajo del mantel. when they do it under the table.
Luego a solas sin nada que perder Later in private with nothing to loose
tras las manos va el resto de la piel in the wake of their hands go their skins
un amor por ocultar a love to conceal
aunque en cueros no hay donde esconderlo though it's nowhere to hide in their bareness
lo disfrazan de amistad they disguise it as friendship
cuando sale a pasear por la ciudad. when strolling around town.
Una opina que aquello no está bien Some lady won't approve
la otra opina que qué se le va a hacer another thinks it's hopeless
y lo que opinen los demás está de más. others' opinions just don't matter.
Quién detiene palomas al vuelo Who could ever stop doves on the wing
volando a ras del suelo passing by at ground level
mujer contra mujer. woman against woman.
No estoy yo por la labor It certainly won't be me
de tirarles la primera piedra the one to throw the first stone
si equivoco la ocasión if I wronged the occasion
y las hallo labio a labio en el salón and stumbled upon them lip to lip in the living
ni siquiera me atrevería a toser I wouldn't even dare to cough
si no gusto ya sé lo que hay que hacer if not my liking, I know what I'm to do
que con mis piedras hacen ellas su pared. for of my stones their wall they build.
Quién detiene palomas al vuelo... Who could ever stop doves on the wing...
Una opina que aquello no está bien... Some lady won't approve...

Erm, how about being offended by the spoilering?

I thought about that, too. I get the impression that many americans are quite puritan, by european standards, and that could be offended if I didn't 'spoiler' the subject; and given that there are a lot of americans here, it looked like the right thing to do...
Sorry if that offended you. Sometimes it's impossible to keep everyone happy!

I also think on the whole americans are more puraitan. I think of posts like
yours to show them there are other ways of looking at things. For that
reason, I hope your spoiler attracted extra attention :)

Sorry if that offended you. Sometimes it's impossible to keep everyone

<Monty Python Letter Reading Voice>
As an American that is in fact here and not puritanical in the least I'd
like to comment that the above statement is one of the funniest things
I've read in a very long time.
</Monty Python Letter Reading Voice>
Too bad I'd have to agree with it... hundreds of Americans dying in wars
(justified or not) all over the world (not to mention millions of other
things we should be taking care of) but number one on our priority list:
making sure those dirty homosexuals don't get married. Good god, they
could breed and we'd be over run by them... oh wait, maybe not.
Sometimes I feel like we should still be wearing buckeled shoes and floppy
black hats.

What offends you about the spoiler? The word lesbian? The fact that a
lesbian couple is two women? That during the act of lesbian intimacy it
*is* a "woman against a woman?"
You probably shouldn't be on the internet if you're so easy to offend.

I'm offended that people find lesbianism offensive. I don't find lebianism
offensive. People who disapprove of it disapprove of me and don't do anyone
any favours by their opinion. They do cause harm, IMO, by signalling that is
ok to treat others as less valuable.

If you spoiler something that doesn't need it, it's easy to take it as
discriminatory, because it often is.

Oh, I'm not offended. Indeed, it was me who started the thread!
It's Jake who apparently found my spoilering offensive. I suppose she just misunderstood me (and I hope that's cleared now!).

Yeah, really, it doesn't matter what people say as long as it's on the
internet; no point commenting on anything.
