wondering about former ASDers |
afraid to make a *list*. Several who either emailed me at certain times
during my divorce that got me through a particularly rough moment, or while
married and thought I was going crazy with all the things spewed at me from
my ex and ex-step daughter more words of kindness, courage, hope and comfort
that carried me through. I even had a few people send me things that still
mean a great deal to me. One particularly I wonder about, not the most
popular (understatement here), but I remember on a day that I thought I
couldn't carry on, a few months into the divorce process he sent me a key
chain, handmade with chinese symbols wishing I believe hope and happiness.
Tried emailing and all dead links now. Then another sent me a CD, I kept
her note, beautiful, unique handwriting just as I would imagine from the
nature of her posts.
Maybe I will make a list later, not yet though. Just want to know how some
of these people are doing. Some I'm sure are thriving and beyond this.
Others, I worry about.

I bet many of them go the way of suicide on here.
I'd bet that many more ... most ... of
them just move on, or get busy, or find
other ways to cope and/or heal to some
degree.

I've been contemplating writing another letter but I haven't
gotten any replies in over a year. Letters and email aren't
responded to and I don't think I could handle telephoning.
Okay, I do not handle goodbyes with strength and dignity. And
perhaps I am being foolish to expect any sort of reply after
all this time. But what really bothers me is there wasn't any
reason given or implied as to why they wanted or needed to
stop communicating. I guess I'm just displaying how foolish
I am.
