From Australia not sure you need one, I remember I did
once though.
Over three months longer I think I would.
Got myself a little stuck going to France once, as didn't
have, although have a UK clause. Travelling from UK to
France.

I got called over it driving from Canada, didn't want to
complete the paperwork, so didn't bother.
