until i have the cash to upgrade, does anyone know of a free slide show extension i can download (free of course!) for dreamweaver 3? they all seem to be for 4.

That's not an Extension, but rather the JavaScript necessary to do what
you want. (You certainly don't need Dreamweaver 4!)
Just so you know, most Extensions are simply mechanisms that do the
tedious stuff for you. They format HTML or JavaScript (or do other things),
but most of the time, they just accept a few parameters and then do the
grunt work.
Step through the tutorial, and you'll find you could put together a
slide show in Notepad. Of course, it requires knowledge of JavaScript and
HTML, but good things come to those who work for them. Give it a shot. :)
