Object: Tables not displayed correctly in Dreamweaver MX 2004
When I open the below webpage in Dreamweaver v4, the tables and
background image are positioned correctly (as you would see in Internet
Explorer). In Dreamweaver MX 2004, the tables contents are all displayed
one below the other (not left and right as you see with v4) and there
are no table borders displayed. I do see the table borders and the
tables are displayed side-by-side with other webpages in MX 2004.

Can someone tell me why the tables on this webpage or not displayed
correctly in Dreamweaver MX 2004 and what I can do to correct this?
Thanks to anyone who can help me out.

You have a missing closing </table> tag at the end of your html. It
should look as below:
</tr>
</table>
</body>

Thank you. That was it.
In Dreamweaver MX 2004, when I selected "Show all errors", it did not
list that missing </table> tag. Do you know why?
Can you recommend a utility program that can scan a file and detect
syntax errors in html, xhtml and css code?

check out www.w3.org
There is a html and css validator.
The other option is to download firefox browser. Download the web developer
tool bar. This is the validator links as part of the toolbar. I couldn't
do without firefox now - it is my browser of choice now...
