An irate Brockton mother is refusing to let her 6-year-old son return
to school after he was suspended for alleged sexual harassment, a term
deemed “preposterous” for a first-grader by a leading sexual
harassment expert.
“My son doesn’t know what sexual harassment is,” said Berthena
Dorinvil. “He keeps saying to me, ‘Mommy, why are they being so mean
to me? What did I do wrong?’ ”
Dorinvil’s son, a first-grader at Downey Elementary School, was
suspended for three days Jan. 30 after school officials accused him of
inappropriately touching a girl in his class.
Dorinvil said school officials told her the boy had put two
fingers inside the waistband of the girl’s pants and touched her skin,
causing the girl to complain to teachers.

I think you should read the Charter of Human Rights,
before attempting to stipulate that black individuals
are not entitled to use protection against violation of
their sacred rights precsribed to everyone on equal

While visiting an exhibition on Afro-American history, Foreign Minister Artis Pabriks
said that Latvians needed to be "vaccinated" against racism and intolerance.
He pointed out that Latvia has in recent years gained ill repute for its racist
attitudes and attacks on persons with dark skin.
"We have spent centuries in a society where all people have similar appearance. We
have learned to respect other cultures but lack experience in dealing with xenophobia
and prejudice against people with different skin color," Pabriks said.
Over the past year the number of attacks against blacks and Jews has risen in Latvia,
and Pabriks' words are the strongest yet from a public official about the need to
address the country's prejudice and racism.
