Object: A Study on Hell
Matthew 25:29-33 "For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he
shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away
even that which he hath."
[gee...take from the poor and give to the rich...what an anti-
socialistic thing for Jesus to say...]
"And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall
be weeping and gnashing of teeth."
[So, hell will be darkness, where it will be so bad people will be
weeping (sorrow) and gnashing their teeth (pain). Doesn't it sound
like the party rockers say it will be?]
"When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels
with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before
him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from
another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall
set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left."
[Interesting...the RIGHT was good and LEFT was bad. Curious.]
Matthew 25:41 "Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand,
Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the
devil and his angels:"
[EVERLASTING...lasts forever. So much for purgatory...huh? If man
gets out of the EVERLASTING fire, I guess EVERLASTING life would end
too...right?]
Mark 9:44 "Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched."
[This quote by Jesus is repeated 3 times in one section. I guess He
was trying to make a point...the worm and the fire DO NOT END. What
else does Scripture say about this punishment...]
Revelation 14:10-11 "The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of
God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his
indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the
presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the
smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have
no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and
whosoever receiveth the mark of his name."
[So, it is day AND night "for ever and ever"...again, so much for
purgatory. It also says they will have NO rest. This all sounds
unfair...right? That is what many of you are thinking. You will
likely say you don't deserve hell. In fact, Jesus says that is what
you WILL be saying....]
Matthew 7:22-23 "Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we
not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and
in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto
them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."
Did you get that? I doubt it. Jesus said to them, "I NEVER knew
you." Those going to hell had NEVER accepted Christ, since Jesus said
He comes in and dwells in ALL that receive Him. It's that simple.
EVERYONE deserves hell. ONLY those that accept Jesus get a ticket to
Heaven. Do you?

dear Zodiak,
the devil and hypocrites would be incompatible with the citizens of heaven so.....

dear Idiot!!
When you can explain why God has not killed the devil, they you might have a
point.
Your creator God, created the Devil, so tell us one more time, why God
decided to flood the world and kill all the humans, rather than kill the
devil and his angels?
There is only one answer. God does not have that power??
Now, just for a lark, take 1 Chronicles 21 : 14 and reconcile that to For
God so loved the world!!
Then you see the joke you have become!!
Smile.

I don't own any worms, thank you.
I guess one should get into the worm-raising business, then.
Otherwise, to make sense of the passage, you have to go against the
principle of "literal" interpretation of the Bible.

[So, it is day AND night "for ever and ever"...again, so much for

You mean that we will continue to have you around posting nonsense for
eternity? Now THAT would be hell.

That is what many of you are thinking.

No. Most are thinking that you are a nutcase. If they give a damn at
all about the Bible verses, they are already believers, and have their
own understanding. If they are not believers, it is just a 2000 year
old passage of religious nonsense.

Matthew 7:22-23 "Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we

Jesus was talking to YOUR ilk. Nonbelievers don't pretend to prophesy
in His name, or to cast out devils in His name. Usually, they don't
even believe in prophecy or devils.
You on the other hand are one of the primary workers of iniquity
posting to this newsgroup

Did you get that? I doubt it.

You are clueless.

Jesus said to them, "I NEVER knew you."

That is what He will say to people like YOU/

Those going to hell had NEVER accepted Christ, since Jesus said
He comes in and dwells in ALL that receive Him. It's that simple.
EVERYONE deserves hell. ONLY those that accept Jesus get a ticket to
Heaven.

But not *all* those who accept Jesus, since those who work iniquity
will be told "depart from me". At least if you take the passage
"literally".

I read their postings. Most who respond to you ridicule you by a huge
margin. The only ones who don't are others who are equally considered

Well, I do have to wonder. When Ken writes a post like
his "I don't understand poor people", or informs us
that many of the poor are "those He has cursed" I must
admit I always flash on:
When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels

And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate

I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not:
sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an
hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison,
and did not minister unto thee?
Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as
ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
And these shall go away into everlasting punishment

In the passage I referred to? Yes, I am denying that He
said anything like that. That is said elsewhere.
What HE DOES say in this passage is that those who fail to do
everything they can to tend to the poor and the disadvantaged
will be surprised because they will be getting the boot for that
failure?
Or are you denying that He said exactly that?
Do you perhaps think all the verbiage about feeding the hungry,
clothing the naked, tending to the sick, and visting the imprisioned
was just poetic filler, having nothing to do with why Jesus is
giving them the eternal brush-off?
And what do you make of His saying that if you failed to do this
for the poor, then you had failed to do it for Him?

Jesus said those that went to hell were those that He had never known

That is NOT what He said. He said that people who have indeed claimed
to have accepted Christ and who indeed had prophesied and cast out
devils in the name of Christ, would nonetheless be met at judgement
with "I never knew you: depart from me" because they worked iniquity
