Authorities search for 11-year-old Marion County boy

DUNNELLON -- Marion County Sheriff's investigators
issued an Amber Alert this morning for an 11-year-old
boy who may have been abducted by a registered sex offender.
Investigators suspect Adam Kirkirt was picked up from
school Tuesday afternoon by Frederick Fretz, who is a
friend of Adam's father and was living with them.
Adam, of Dunnellon, was last seen wearing black pants,
a white T-shirt and a long-sleeved shirt with a
Spider-Man symbol. He has short brown hair and brown
eyes. He is about 5 feet tall and weighs about 100 pounds.
The FBI and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement
broadened the search for Adam as far as New York,
sheriff's officials said.
Adam may be with Fretz, 42, in a white four-door Chevy
Lumina, according to officials. The temporary tag on
the 1993 car is K930950.
Fretz is 5 feet and 11 inches tall, has brown hair and
a shaved head. He is a registered sex offender in
Arizona and Pennsylvania, said Sue Livoti, of the
Marion County Sheriff's Office.
"The search is wide open,'' she said. "They could be anywhere.''
Sheriff's officials said Adam was last seen Tuesday
afternoon after Fretz picked him up at Dunnellon
Elementary School.
Fretz was released from the Marion County Jail on Oct.
31 and has since been living with Ivert Kirkirt, Adam's
father, and a female roommate in an Ocala apartment,
sheriff's officials said.
On Sept. 6, Fretz was booked into the Marion County
Jail on charges of domestic battery and possession of
marijuana, sheriff's officials said.
It was there that he reunited with Adam's father, who
was booked into the jail in October on a parole
violation charge, Livoti said.
Fretz and the boy's father apparently knew each other
while living in New Jersey several years ago, Livoti
said. Fretz was released from the jail on Oct. 31, days
after Kirkirt was released.
In December, Adam's mother, Dorraine Kirkirt, 39, sent
Adam to live with his father and Fretz after she was
evicted from her Dunnellon home, sheriff's officials
said. The couple separated several years ago.
Every morning, Fretz would drive the female roommate to
her job in Ocala and then take Adam to school in
Dunnellon, before heading to his job as a car repairman
at an Ocala Chevron station, sheriff's officials said.
Amber Alerts rapidly notify the public and other law
enforcement agencies of a missing child who may be in
danger.

I guess you missed this part:
"Adam may be with Fretz, 42, in a white four-door Chevy

I know I'm a driver, and I'm interested. I doubt if that Chevy could have
made it this far North by now in this weather, but I'll keep my eye out
anyway. -Dave

Perhaps it is because the rec.autos.driving groupers
are a pretty alert bunch one might spot the vehicle
described. The amber alert 'is' an appeal for help.

THe amber alert is a system that the police use as an excuse to
confiscate your house if someobdy is caught smoking marijuana.
It was intended to be a nationwide alert system that goes on highway
signs that are alongside the shoulder.
But the Rave act was tagged to it in a trick that is standard in the
police states.

From the DOJ website:
"The AMBER Alert System began in 1996 when Dallas-Fort Worth
broadcasters teamed with local police to develop an early warning system
to help find abducted children. AMBER stands for America's Missing:
Broadcast Emergency Response and was created as a legacy to 9-year-old
Amber Hagerman, who was kidnaped while riding her bicycle in Arlington,
Texas, and then brutally murdered. Other states and communities soon set
up their own AMBER plans as the idea was adopted across the nation."

Basically it is a call, from the police, for public
assistance, as in: watch for " a white four-door Chevy
Lumina, according to officials. The temporary tag on
the 1993 car is K930950. [the driver] Fretz is 5 feet
and 11 inches tall, has brown hair and a shaved head."

Bzzzzt. Try again. It is an alert from the parents, implemented by
the press, because the cops don't give a ***** when kids turn up
missing. They are too busy chasing down someone who exceeds an
arbitrary limit by 1MPH, and can't be concerned with petty crimes like
murder, rape or kidnapping.

The boy's father was asking for trouble by letting the offender live with
them AND drive the boy to/from school. The father needs his head examined.
