The key word in the subject line is proven. Science has yet to prove
there is no God, even though it concludes (unscientifically) that He
doesn't exist.

Science has also yet to prove that there are no fifty foot long
purple worms with IQs of 1000 living on Mars. Does that mean we
should assume they exist anyway? Do you buy every piece of paper
titled "Deed to the Brooklyn Bridge"?
Can you cite the reference that concludes that God does not exist? As
a weak athiest / weak agnostic, a person who denies as a result of
lack of evidence, this could quite possibly tbe the evidence I need
to understand it all.

Nice strawman, but he said nothing of God (nor did the subject).
His comparison of accountability was between scientists and religionists. I
think the scientists won. That was his point.

Science makes no such conclusion, and is utterly silent on the
existence of God, which/who is by definition irrelevant to science.

"It" does? Which "it" do you have in mind here? "Science" makes
no claims about the existence of God whatsoever. It's not a part
of the gig.
Some religous fundamentalists, and not just Christian ones, find
science a threat because it brings into serious question some
factual claims made by those who take their scriptures literally.
Others believers do not -- about half of all practicing scientists
express spiritual beliefs, so a claim like "science concludes
there is no god" shows the the claimee might want to learn
a bit about what science does and what science does not do.

Science has nothing to say about whether or not God exists.
And science is not trying to prove anything about God either
way, since God cannot be scientifically falsified.

Uh huh. Sure. Whatever you say, fool...
That being the case, you should have no problem whatsoever producing a
citation to "science" concluding there is no God, unless you're just another
stupid, lying, superstitious, hypocritical jackass farting asinine *****
about that which you know absolutely nothing and that you can't even begin
to back up, that is. Well?

Yeppers, and that's exactly the way it works. You do something
revolutionary in science; nobody signs on til a number of
other researchers are able to repeat what you claim to
have done. And in this case it didn't even get
that far: other researchers merely looking at some
data in the original claim spotted serious problems.

And, very specificaly, /not/ Galileo Galilei, who was said to have

tacked onto the SUBJect - "Re: Cloning Scientist Proven a Fraud

A few copies were circulated, and then the printer received an
instruction to halt all further printing or sale of the book.
Galileo was to appear before the Inquisition in October. Galileo
was not well enough to travel, but the Pope insisted he make the
journey.
The result of the trial was, of course, never in doubt. The Vatican
showed that Galileo was 'suspect of heresy' having held a view that
went against holy scripture. His specific crime was believing that
'the Sun is the centre of the world and does not move from east to
west'. He was sentenced to life imprisonment, though this was
reduced to permanent house-arrest at his villa in Arcetri. Perhaps
worse Galileo was forced to Abjure, in other words to confess his
views and to condemn them:

Boy, that's pretty heart-wrenching.
Although something I once read elsewhere, Scientific American I believe,
left me with the impression that it was not so much that the
Church believed Galileo to be wrong -- the current pope
had been a big fan, back in the day -- but that Galileo
blindsided the Pope, who thought that they had an
understanding regarding ixnay on ethay unsay
just right now, the Church having enough
