Study of College Readiness Finds No Progress
in Decade
`
"American high school students are no better
prepared for college than they were 10 years
ago, according to a new study by ACT, one of
the two big organizations that offer college
entrance tests."
`
The newsstory quotes the report:
`
"And from everything we've seen, it's not going
to get better any time soon."
`
The story continues:
"They [ACT officials] said that while they recog-
nized that not all students wanted to go on to
college, those entering the work force needed
the same skills and knowledge as those pursu-
ing higher education."
