'Keep the Cross, Remove the Democrats,' Protestors Say
By Susan Jones

June 09, 2004
(CNSNews.com) - More than a thousand angry citizens went to a Los Angeles
County Board of Supervisors meeting on Tuesday, but despite their efforts,
county supervisors refused to reverse their decision to remove a small cross
from the county's official seal.
The ACLU threatened to sue the county if it did not remove the Christian
cross -- which symbolizes California's missionary history. On Tuesday, as
protestors waved signs, the Board of Supervisors voted 3-2 to uphold its
earlier decision that the cross must go.
Press reports said Tuesday's meeting was standing room only, drawing the
largest crowd to attend a meeting in many years.
Christians weren't the only ones waving signs. According to the Los Angeles
Daily News, some of the signs read "Jews for the L.A. County Seal,"
"Buddhists for the Seal," and "Stop the ACLU Nazis."
'Arrogance'
"If people want to keep the cross, they need to remove the Democrats," said
the Campaign for California Families, a conservative group that mobilized
support for keeping the cross in the county seal.
CCF noted that all three people voting to remove the cross were Democrats.
The two who voted to keep the cross were Republicans.
In two-and-a-half hours of public testimony, virtually all the speakers
favored keeping the cross, CCF said.
"Those who don't respect the Constitution are doing everything in their
power to remove Christian values in society," said Randy Thomasson, CCF
executive director. "When our founding fathers wrote, 'Congress shall make
no law respecting an establishment of religion,' they didn't mean to yank
crosses off public property."
Thomasson argues that the First Amendment prohibits Congress from creating
an official state denomination, such as the Church of England in Great
Britain.
"While the establishment clause was narrowly written to prohibit an official
'Church of the United States,' the free-exercise clause -- "or prohibiting
the free exercise thereof" -- was meant to guarantee the free flow of
religious expression everywhere else," Thomaason said.
"This freedom includes the right of federal, state, and local governments to
respect and promote Christian symbols such as the cross, or other religious
values the people hold dear. It's the American way."
Thomasson called Tuesday's vote a demonstration of "anti-Christian
arrogance" in Los Angeles.
"Given that Democrats are the only ones attacking the cross, it's obvious
that if people want to keep the cross, they need to remove the Democrats,"
he said.

Atheism teaches that there is no God, hence no God-given rights. That
ideology coupled with a system that believed in the superiority of the state
at the expense of the individual was murderously synergistic.

It's not by party rule. It's by church rule. I find it ironic that the group
that readily points fingers and questions people's patriotism are the ones
that don't like the country or it's constitution and laws and most want to
change them in a way that would benefit them and punish everyone else. If
you want an example of unpatriotic beliefs, look no further than the people
who want to scrap the constitution, punish non-believers, and run the
country by the bible.

The GOP Taliban hates the U.S. Constitution.
George Bush's years in office have been nothing less than an endless
series of attacks on the personal liberties of all Americans.
We did not last for more than 200 years acting like superstitious city

"Reagan's quack economists trashed scholarships and turned welfare recipients into homeless people and refused to do anything about
the AIDS epidemic, all so they could fund extravagant tax cuts for a tiny sliver of the ultra rich. Their supply-side sales pitch,
that the rich would buy so much stuff from everybody else that the economy would boom and government coffers would fill up, never
panned out. The Reagan boom lasted just three years and created only low-wage jobs. When the '80s were over, we were buried in the

Federal courts have apparently ordered the removal of crosses in seal
cases in Ohio, Illinois, and New Mexico.
They permitted a cross to remain in a case in Austin Texas - in that
case it did not in any way represent the church, and was embedded in
secular symbols. A cross with wings was part of the Austin family

Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA) is a fucking idiot.
How big of an idiot is he?
A very big one.
Appearing on CNN's Crossfire last week, Rohrabacher blamed the
Democrats in general and Al Gore in particular for September 11.
Said he on CNN's Crossfire, "It's the Democratic Party and of course
it's Al Gore, who knows a lot about incompetence, I might add, that
got us into this mess; 9/11 was on the way; 9/11 was on the way by the
time President Bush was inaugurated."
Hmm, that's odd.
See, Dana Rohrabacher used to be a pretty big fan of Osama bin Laden's
protectors, the Taliban.
How big of a fan?
Well, a very big one.
According to a 2002 report in the OC Weekly, Rohrabacher "lobbied
shamelessly for the Taliban" during the 1990s.
In 1996 he wrote an article claiming that the "Taliban could provide
stability in an area where chaos was creating a real threat to the
U.S."
Later in the article he claimed that the Taliban were "not terrorists
or revolutionaries," that media reports of the Taliban's nutjob
religious fundamentalism were "nonsense," and that they posed no
threat to the United States.
Mind you, on September 11 Rohrabacher did stand before a microphone
and say "I’ve been begging people to do something about Afghanistan,
and I said if we didn’t do anything about the Taliban, we would pay a
dear price."
So there's always the possibility that's he's severely mentally ill.
Actually it kinda makes you wonder why they let him go on television

(CNSNews.com) - More than a thousand angry citizens went to a Los Angeles
County Board of Supervisors meeting on Tuesday, but despite their efforts,
county supervisors refused to reverse their decision to remove a small cross
from the county's official seal.

Now you're pissed because the "wall of separation" is being upheld?
All that ***** you like to eat rotted your brain too?
