President visits dead Pope 5 minutes while mile long line waits |
Not only did our illustrious leader wait zero minutes in line, he held up
the mile long line of pilgrims for five whole minutes while his party knelt=
and prayed before the corpse.
They say the wait for pilgrims is 12 hours and no knealing permitted - they=
must keep the line moving! So much for eagelitarianism of the Church and
Government. =20
ROME Apr 6, 2005 =97 President Bush and his two White House predecessors
paid their respects to Pope John Paul II on Wednesday, viewing his remains=
and kneeling to pray in St. Peter's Basilica.=20
Immediately after arriving in Rome, Bush and other members of the U.S.
delegation went to the basilica to view the remains. Bush and his wife,
Laura, were accompanied by Bush's father, former President Clinton and
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.=20
They knelt in a pew in front of the remains, bowing their heads in prayer.=
They spent about five minutes and then left without any comment. Hundreds
of thousands of people have viewed the pope's remains since Monday. The
line of mourners was stopped during Bush's visit.

All the big shots in the world have a different door to see the Pope. The
line might go quicker if all doors were open to all.
