Since the fictional Da Vinci Code book came out, almost every Christian
publisher has seen an increase in sales due to their own sales of books
refuting the claims in Brown's book. Now, we have a movie coming out
on the same topic. I expect the same result.
Since the Da Vinci Code book has already had such sales, it would be
doubtful that their would be future sales of the book by the release of
the movie. In fact, the movie company is, instead, counting on those
that read the book to come see the movie, which is only half true.
Many that read the book that I know hated it.
On the other hand, books from "cracking the Da Vinci Code" to other
books showing the falsehoods in the teachings will see a rise. When
people want to know the truth behind the theory, they are going to
consult non-fiction for the truth. There, Christians have the majority
of books. When the movie comes out, bookstores will be pushing all of
these books as related to the movie. Therefore, the church will be
making a LOT of money off of the very ones opposed to it. Funny.

I shall run this theory by my tame book-store
maven, who knows these things, and get back to you.
