You wouldn't believe it if it was shoved in your face. Admit it. But
having said that have you ever heard of th Historian Josephus of that time?

Perhaps a search on Sodom to start?

As far as the Bible goes, that little incident with Lot (who
did not displease God by offering up his daughters for
a good old-fashioned heterosexual gang rape) -- was irrelevant,
because God had already decided to nuke Sodom. Thus the incident
with the townspeople demanding that Lot send his guests out,
which is what is always pointed at to justify the contention
that Sodom was punished for homosexuality, is not applicable.
However, if you put any stock in what the Bible actually
does say, as opposed to what you would like it to say,
Sodom was punished for "the iniquity of thy sister Sodom,
pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in
her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the
hand of the poor and needy." Ezekiel 16:49.
In other words, the denizens of Sodom fell down in
the touchy-feely liberal department.

The little incident with Lot was not an isolated case. What the men of
Sodom did was something they did to a good many people who came to
their town.

Well, immorality was their main problem.
