'SEX ABUSE' KIDS SUE FOR $50 MIL

September 10, 2007 -- Four Bronx kids and their parents have filed a
$31 million lawsuit against a Suffolk County foster family that took the
children in years ago - and allegedly abused them physically,
psychologically and sexually.
The Bronx family charges in court papers that when the two boys and two
girls - ages 7, 6, 4 and 2 - were placed in the home of the Benavides
family in Central Islip in 1994, they might have well been shipped off
to hell.
The family, which is not being identified because the children are
alleged sexual-assault victims, also has a $21 million lawsuit pending
against the foster-care agency Little Flower Children and Family
Services of New York.
The agency placed the kids after a bullet smashed through a window of
their apartment at a Bronx housing project.
"This is where they left the children, in this hellhole," family lawyer
Adam Orlow said.
The oldest foster kid, now 21, told The Post he still has nightmares of
Carmen and Esteban Benavides' son Darwin sexually abusing him.
"I was told by Darwin if I said anything, I would be killed, and I was 7
years old," the former foster kid said.
Darwin Benavides, now 43, pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual abuse
in the first degree in 1998 and was sentenced to six months behind bars.
The lawsuit against the foster family also charges that dad Esteban
Benavides physically and sexually abused the children, although the
foster father was never charged.
An attorney for Little Flower, John Murphy, did not return phone calls.

Imagine that, 6.4 children die at the hands of the very agencies that
are supposed to protect them and only 1.5 at the hands of parents per
100,000 children. CPS perpetrates more abuse, neglect, and sexual abuse
and kills more children then parents in the United States. If the
citizens of this country hold CPS to the same standards that they hold
parents too. No judge should ever put another child in the hands of ANY
government agency because CPS nationwide is guilty of more harm and
death than any human being combined. CPS nationwide is guilty of more
human rights violations and deaths of children then the homes from which
they were removed. When are the judges going to wake up and see that
they are sending children to their death and a life of abuse when
children are removed from safe homes based on the mere opinion of a
bunch of social workers.
