After Social Worker Closes Case, Family ‘Spreads the Word!’

The Boda family was quite alarmed when they received a visit from a
Grand Junction social worker. However, they would not allow the social
worker in their home, and did not comply with the social worker’s
request to interview their children. Instead, they promptly called the
Home School Legal Defense Association for help.
HSLDA Attorney Chris Klicka spoke with the social worker on behalf of
the Bodas. Klicka learned that the social worker had received a tip that
Mr. and Mrs. Boda were abusing their children due to severe discipline.
The allegations were completely bogus.
After consulting with the Bodas, Klicka learned that an upset relative
had been harassing the Bodas for some time, and was simply using the
system to try to hurt them. Klicka advised them to provide the social
worker with references and have their doctor examine the children in
order to prove that there were no signs of physical abuse.
Klicka drafted a letter to the social worker explaining that the family
was innocent (as proved by the letters and doctor’s statement), and that
the family wanted to minimize the trauma to their family by declining
the social worker’s request to enter their home and to interview their
children. In order to resolve the matter, however, Klicka told the
social worker that he could set up a time to come by the Boda’s home and
talk to them on their doorstep.
After hearing from HSLDA, the social worker came by, striking a very
conciliatory tone! She let slip that the allegation was “from a long
time ago” and admitted it was an “anonymous tip.” Then she announced she
was closing the case. Mr. Boda stayed outside and even chatted with her
about the many benefits of homeschooling.
Mrs. Boda said she was “so thankful for HSLDA” and she exclaimed they
“can’t be thankful enough!” She said her family prays for HSLDA all the
time.
She ended by saying she “spreads the word wherever she goes about the
importance of joining and supporting HSLDA.” Mrs. Boda remarked with a
chuckle that “they got just about everybody in church signed up with HSLDA!”
HSLDA Social Services Contact Policy
We desire to advise our members in every contact with a social worker
and/or police officer in investigations resulting from allegations of
abuse or neglect. If homeschooling is an issue, we will represent our
member families until the issue is resolved. On Fourth Amendment
unreasonable search and seizure issues, HSLDA will advise our members
whenever the privacy of their home is violated by forced or coerced
entry for the purpose of an unsubstantiated investigation. HSLDA
membership benefits do not extend to court actions resulting from
non-homeschooling matters. However, in circumstances where there is a
clear violation of the Fourth Amendment, HSLDA may, as we have done in
the past, choose to take the case in an effort to establish legal precedent.
Nobody is talking about America’s Hidden Holocaust, the Destruction of
Hundreds of Good and innocent Low-Income Families by Child Protective
Services…
Currently Child Protective Services violates more civil rights on a
daily basis then all other agencies combined, Including the NSA/CIA
wiretaping program…
Personally I Do Not appreciate Child Protective Services using the
Constitution of the United States as Toilet Paper in a Time of War,
while the Good Men and Women of our Armed Forces are Fighting and Dying
for It.

Somebody needs to remind the individual State's and their governors that
children stolen from innocent low-income families in many cases through
out the United States are not commodities to be traded for federal
dollars...
