Object: Walters Heaven Special Shows Fear of Death
ABC's Walters is doing a news special on Heaven in a few days. Why
would she be doing that, someone might wonder. She is an extreme
liberal, and she has attacked the religious on many occassions.
Well, there are no atheists in foxholes, and the whole group of the
Baby Boomers are facing the onslought of natural death in the near
future. They have spent every generation putting their responsibility
upon others, but this is one they must face themselves, and it is
scaring the hell into them.
Walters news special shows a hunger, even in the strongest opponents of
God, for more than just the "you live then you die" line of the
atheists. However, one doesn't find the way to God by consulting with
other lost men. If the blind lead the blind, as Jesus says, both will
fall into the ditch. So, you can watch this program that promises no
answers from the start, or you can trust the words of Jesus....
"Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one
comes to the Father except through me.'" John 14:6
"whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on
him." John 3:36

There seems to be a problem here Kenny. Now does this news special show a
hunger, when it will air in a few days?
Is it safe to say, you helped out with the script for the show?
Did you have an connection to the show at all?
Do you have any way of knowing exactly what is on the show??
Then I guess, until it actually airs, you really are just blowing wind.
Might I suggest you go back to Narnia show with the talking lion!!
You seemed to like that fairy tale, because it ties in with your book of
fairy tales.
Smile.

Well there are blurbs and reviews in the press, such as
http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/show/CTVShows/20051130/Barbara_Walters_Heaven/20051202/
but of course those articles don't support his claims.
<Atheist - "No, heaven doesn't exist, hell doesn't exist. We weren't
< alive before we were born and we're not going to exist after we die.
< I'm not happy about the fact that that's the end of life, but I can
< accept that and make my life more fulfilling now, because this is the
< only chance I have," says Ellen Johnson, president of the American
< Atheists Society.
doesn't exactly show a "hunger". And since the program apparently
interviews many non-Christians, I am sure it doesn't support the claim
"one doesn't find the way to God by consulting with other lost men"
but in fact probably supports the opposite.

There are, you know.
And in fact they're really really REALLY tired of people telling
them how they felt, believed, and acted while putting their

The incredible arrogance of such an assumption sometimes
triggers reactions a bit less restrained than the
web pages I gave. I have in mind the outburst of
of the brother of Pat Tilman, the NFL strong
safety who quit his million-dollar-plus job
to join the Army Rangers, and who was killed
in Afghanistan. Tilman was an atheist, and
at his funeral his brother reacted strongly
to those who wanted to paper this over with
religious platitudes:
"Pat isn't with God. He's fucking dead.
He wasn't religious. So thank you for your
thoughts, but he's fucking dead."

Christians need to believe such things. Don't
know why. Maybe there's a self-righteous gene
that hasn't been identified yet. More likely, it
probably helps them deal with their own
insecurities by inferring characteristics to
others such that their feelings of doubt are
negated.
Of course, the Fool aptly names himself by virtue
of the fact he'll believe whatever is convenient
to fulfill his own paradigm. Spouting such
uninformed opinion must make him feel really
special.

You are certainly correct in your observation. Perhaps we can look at it
this way also: She is looking for answers and she just might find them is
she really wants them. She has seen the ones around her end up with
nothing (Rather, Wallace, Brokaw, Jennings, etc. who spent their lives
trying to mock God and Christians) and she hopes she can turn out better.
Let us pray for her that she would come to a knowledge of the Lord Jesus
Christ for He said whosoever seeks me shall find Me.. Luke 11:10.

Of course there is always the danger of the shy Christian,
(IKnowHimDoYou- A.), being one of the "several of these
individuals, who so staunchly and proudly touted their religious
convictions in public, would time and again lie to cover their
tracks and disguise the real purpose behind the ID Policy."
There have been those who have been martyred because of their
faith. There are also those who are ashamed to admit who they are.

Of course that means the earlier biblical
characters were excluded from the old guy's
presence since jesus hadn't made his little
visitation yet and the concept of the trilogy was
added to christianity at a much later date. Funny
though, didn't I read about one old fellow who
went directly to god being carried in a chariot
pulled by a team of horses in a whirlwind of fire?
Or was that from some other myth? Sometimes I get
my myths mixed up.
