Here is my son's response:

Megatron is the evil. He is the bad guy. I saw the movie, I saw no
mention
of a coming overlord. Megatron is a personification of Satan. Megatron
crashed to the Earth. So did Satan. Megatron tried to take over Earth,
and
the home planet of the Transformers. He wishes to bend the humans to his
rule. This is the way of the devil. This is what Satan wants. He wants
to
bend US to HIS rule. Megatron is Satan, Optimus Prime is a
personification
of Michael, the Archangel. This is pretty much the ultimate showdown
between
Good and Evil. After all, Michael was commanded by God to rid Heaven of
Satan and his minions. Optimus wishes to save the humans. Angels have
hidden
among us, and protected us. So do the Autobots. The Decepticons wish to
decieve the Autobots into believing in Megatron. So does Satan with the
Angels. This is NOT a satanist film. This is a form of what God tried to
teach us about Satan. I'm not saying it's exact, but if you really knew
about the Autobots and the Decepticons, like I do, you would know for
yourself. Before the TV show hit a bad run, I used to watch it. The
Autobots
fight for the weak, while the Decepticons wish to destroy anyone who
fights
them. Michael fought for the weak. Satan tries to destroy them, and make
them suffer with him in hell. Satan wishes to rule the Universe. So does
Megatron. Optimus wishes to save the humans. So does Michael the
Archangel.
Study the story; you'll see my point.

-Tom

God WILL bend us all to His will when He returns...

So you're saying God is the bad guy.

EVERY knee will

bow, even those that go to hell. Also, I said it is as SATAN would
see it, not Christians. Satan hates God and sees Him as a cruel
dictator, just as Megatron is in this film. Satan doesn't really CARE
if you see things his way or do things his way, so long as you don't
do it God's way, just as is the view of Optimus Prime.

So you're saying Satain is the good guy.

Further, angels don't "hide" among us (as if they were afraid), being
the ones with authority from God. The devil's hide from them.

You really need to read your Bible, again.

If he did, would he read this line?

"Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have
entertained angels unawares"

hehehe.....I had the same thought, but am going to let my son speak for
himself in his response to Ken. :)
God bless you,
Feather

It always amuses me how those who claim to be Christian really seem to
get off on this one verse. They can't stand the fact that they
themselves can't force everyone around them to adopt their religion so
it thrills them to think that someday, somehow, their god will do it for
them through sheer physical force.

As long as this is surpost to be about scientology and its crossposted
to a few christian groups, did you know scientoloogy has a web site
that claims to repsent your faith? It's called the Religous Freedom
Watch. I did a piece on it awhile back at......
http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/100714/scientologys_hate_site_religious_freedom.html
Read the piece and then visit the site. Take the time to tell those
you know of this hate site that claims to be tied into your faiths.
Write the site, tell those you worship with about it. See how
scientology treats those who dare speak out against it.

I didn't assume anything of the kind. The post was about scientology
and posted also in a news group critical of scientology. As such I
thought it might be nice to have some part of it about scientology.
As for calling everyone of faith a fool, I have found in my life that
those with a closed mind are the fools. I have no problem with anyone
of any faith. People are free to belive in whatever makes them happy
and brings them peace.
I don't even have a problem with what the members of scientology
belive. It's the very evil actions of scientoloyg I speak out
against. As an atheist I would have thought you would be more open
minded.

I didn't assume anything of the kind.

Yes, you did. you asked if I was aware of a Scientology website that
claimed to represent my faith. That question assumes both that I have a
faith and that it's Scientology.

The post was about scientology
and posted also in a news group critical of scientology.

It was also posted in a half-dozen other newsgroups, one of which
happens to be rec.arts.movies.current-films, which has nothing to do
with religion and is where I'm reading this thread.

As for calling everyone of faith a fool,
I have found in my life that those with a
closed mind are the fools.

Why do you assume that my mind is closed? You have no idea the lengths
and breadths I may or may not have gone to with regard to examining the
concept of religion. Just because I reached a different conclusion than
you doesn't mean my mind is closed.
Is your mind closed because you stopped believing in Santa Claus?

I have no problem with anyone
of any faith.

I don't have a problem with them, either. Doesn't make their beliefs any
less silly.

People are free to belive in whatever makes them happy
and brings them peace.

I never claimed otherwise.

Okay, too easy.

Transformers (a film about the race that hides within things we see

Sounds like you are a ConstructiCON

Sincerely,
Optimus Prime

Har, Optimus Prime, I will Care Bear Stare you!

FNC, until Mr Rogers shows up, at any rate.

The religiwiggy were dissing the Care Bears twenty years ago:
THE CARE BEARS
Another group of cuddly and cute cartoon characters are those
adorable Care Bears. One of the popular themes of various Care Bear
programs is self esteem. On the back cover of their "Feeling Good"
video children are instructed" "All hearts on deck...Come aboard
with The Care Bears...Feel good and watch bad thoughts sink while
self-confidence sets sail!"
In II Timothy 3:1-2 we read "that in the last days perilous times
shall come. For me shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous,
boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful,
unholy."
The problem, according to Scripture, is not that man does not love
himself or that he lacks self-esteem. The problem is that man loves
himself to much. And here we have toddlers learning "selfism" so
popular in the New Age because that is what The Care Bears are
telling them.
Also, "Media Spotlight" noted: "The Care Bears stare is an intense
concentration through which the Care Bears focus the energy in
their torsos in order to produce a "force" to overcome evil with
which they are confronted on their missions. If this sounds a bit
Eastern and mystical, we needn't be surprised." (34)

Apart from DIANETICS: THE EVOLUTION OF A SCIENCE, (I thought, perhaps)
he wrote science fiction. Raised by a career naval military officer
and feminist, an early relocation to the West of Montana inspired a
spiritual awakening derived in American Indian lore. Subsequent
development included advancing to First and Youngest American Boy
Scout Eagle, assimilation of Alistair Crowley's Satanism, assaying
Eastern philosophy and Freudian psychoanalysis. He first wrote pulp
fiction under various pseudonyms, short stories of a fantastical
nature, before applying himself wholly to Scientology, it's discovery
of past conditions and lives affecting current character development
until audited and the condition alleviated.
Other than pulp fiction stories, Battlefield Earth and Mission Earth,
he doesn't appear to have been a prolific sci-fi novel writer. A
controversial figure, to say the least.

The problem is Wide Eyed doesn't know what he/she is talking about
here. There is no overlord of any kind in the movie or book. No
alien race is hiding on earth. I don't know where he/she got their
info from, but it couldn't be much more wrong.

Which reminds me; much like I get a bit of a kick out of reading
Scientology screed, I'm a big fan of the 'Left Behind' type stuff
too (I'm also a Mormon Movie fan).
The 'Left Behind' books as a genre are less than varied and tend to
get into a rut, but, in the first 'Left Behind' *movie* they did a
cute thing with the Rapture.
When the faithful disappeared, their clothes were left in neat,
folded stacks :)
God Is A Woman! In fact; God is 'Big Momma'!!!

I read all of the left behind books. Never mind that I skipped over
the preach parts and the bible verses and stuck to the apocalypse.

the more appropriate translation is All-Sufficient God. Shad is the Hebrew
