Warning - Transformers a Scientology Picture! |
Well, they are at it again. After Spielberg and Cruise made the
Scientologist War of the World version, Spielberg has now the
Scientologist Transformers version. It should've been obvious, but I
wasn't thinking. Just think about it...
An alien race lives hidden among us on the Earth at war with a hidden
overlord somewhere else. They join with us against the overlord that
is coming to Earth to reign. This is the plot of Scientology. It is
also the way that Satan sees our world (thus, Scientology is Satanism
lite).
From the viewpoint of the devil, he and his angels crashed on the
Earth (when they fell from Heaven), overthrew their overseers (mankind
in Eden) and live hidden upon the Earth (in human bodies, which is how
the Scientologists say the spirits hide, too). They, being at war
with another race like them (Angels among us) rally man against the
coming overlord (God) who will come to reign on the Earth.
Transformers (a film about the race that hides within things we see
here...like demons) is a Scintology (or Satanism, if you will) film.

It is a work of fiction with good guys vs bad guys and the good guys win.
That is a typical myth that has been around for thousands of years. G K
Chesterton (of the Father Brown detective stories fame) said that he became
a Christian because he knew fairy tales were true - the good guys always win
in the end. In this life the good guys don't always win so therefore there
had to be a heaven where God rewarded the good guys.

What is really fascinating is how Kenny manages to find Transformers
to be Scientological and/or Satanic allegory, but finds Pirates of the
Caribbean III to be Christian allegory, and apparently his reason for
these classifications depends mostly on his judgement of the religious
beliefs of some people involved in making the movie.

Holy *****, both you *and* your kid are fucking nuts. It's a movie about
giant robots, not some stealth biblical tale.
And no one's diagnosing a medical condition here. The words "nuts" is a
common colloquialism, not a medical judgment. I challenge you to find it

In light of the messages people manage to see in this movie, it was
interesting that the voice-actor of Optimus Prime (Cullen) who
invented his own character's character, seems to have based his
character on his brother, and not on either Michael or Satan (the
article makes it clear that much of the "meaning" in the Transformer
story came from Cullen's interpretation of his character), and he sees
an entirely different Biblical story being referenced in the new
movie: Cain and Abel. Meanwhile, one of the producers (DeSanto) sees
it mostly in terms of a contrast in parenting styles.

<Though "Transformers "has been mocked over the years as a glorified
< toy commercial, Cullen says the performers from the original series
< never saw it that way.
<
<Cullen imbued Prime with qualities that were very important to the
< actor personally, adding a layer to the role that, in keeping with
< the "Transformers "catchphrase, was "more than meets the eye."
<
<As a stoic, stern but forgiving father figure to the little yellow
< rookie robot known as Bumblebee (a VW bug in its original
< incarnation, and a Chevy Camaro in the live-action film), Prime never
< lost his temper, and even in the heat of battle never lost his
< dignity or desire to preserve the lives on Earth.
<
<"It came from family members that I drew from, my brother, in
< particular. He was an officer in the Marine Corps fighting in Vietnam
< and was there longer than anybody should be in battle," Cullen says.
< "He didn't talk much about his experiences, but the power inside of
< him as a person was undeniably a strength that I'd never seen when we
< were growing up. He had changed. He was my hero. So years later when
< I had the opportunity to audition for Optimus Prime I drew on my
< brother's persona. ... I wanted that sense of honor."
<
<Megatron, on the other hand, the leader of the resource-plundering
< Decepticons, is practically the epitome of a bad parent - quick to
< anger, judgmental, cruel - which is why his second in command, the
< fighter jet Starscream, has always secretly plotted to usurp him.
<
<A line from the cartoon that is repeated in the movie says it all:
<"When he says, "Starscream, you have failed me again ...' that's like
< the mantra heard from the bad father of every kid who ever struck out
< in baseball," DeSanto says.
<
<The movie also takes family conflict to another new level, revealing
< that Prime and Megatron are brothers. "It's like Cain and Abel, all
< taking place in some other part of the galaxy," Cullen says.
<
<He says the mythology is vital. Before anyone could breathe life into
< these characters, somebody had to explain who these alien machines
< were and why they looked like human vehicles.
All of which says that Kenny and Tom are BOTH wrong as to what the
story "means", except for them personally. The interpretations that
they choose to see in the film are entirely *their own* inventions,
and not something Spielberg came up with.
It is perfectly fine in artistic criticism to make such
interpretations, but when they are attributed without evidence to the
artwork-creator (as Kenny did), we get the postmodernist idea that the
narratives people read into an artwork are somehow more fundamental
than the art itself.
Critic/interpreters should clearly mark their ideas as being the
critic's own interpretation (Tom kind of does this with "I'm not
saying it's exact", but I'd love to see such personal interpretations
marked with "I think it means ..." or some such). Kenny seems not to
understand this, and habitually in his posting puts his own
poorly-thought-out nonsense into the mouths (or minds) of others.

Megatron is the evil. He is the bad guy. I saw the movie, I saw no mention
of a coming overlord. Megatron is a personification of Satan. Megatron
crashed to the Earth. So did Satan. Megatron tried to take over Earth, and
the home planet of the Transformers. He wishes to bend the humans to his
rule. This is the way of the devil. This is what Satan wants. He wants to
bend US to HIS rule. Megatron is Satan, Optimus Prime is a personification
of Michael, the Archangel. This is pretty much the ultimate showdown between
Good and Evil. After all, Michael was commanded by God to rid Heaven of
Satan and his minions. Optimus wishes to save the humans. Angels have hidden
among us, and protected us. So do the Autobots. The Decepticons wish to
decieve the Autobots into believing in Megatron. So does Satan with the
Angels. This is NOT a satanist film. This is a form of what God tried to
teach us about Satan. I'm not saying it's exact, but if you really knew
about the Autobots and the Decepticons, like I do, you would know for
yourself. Before the TV show hit a bad run, I used to watch it. The Autobots
fight for the weak, while the Decepticons wish to destroy anyone who fights
them. Michael fought for the weak. Satan tries to destroy them, and make
them suffer with him in hell. Satan wishes to rule the Universe. So does
Megatron. Optimus wishes to save the humans. So does Michael the Archangel.

Hi Tom,
I do see your point and its very well thought out. But sometimes a
story is just that. A story. You are off base on a couple of
points. Megaton doesn't wish to rule us. He sees us as pests that
have no more value than a insect. We must be disposed of before he
can make the planet his own. The Autobots at the start of the movie
don't think that much more highly of us. This is simply a story of
good vs evil. And with any such story you can read and bend it to
where it fits in the bible. But I don't think that was the intent of
the author.
The book while not one of his best was writen by Alan Dean Foster.
You should be able to find it at any Wal Mart or bookstore now. For a
16 year old you do have a good head on your shoulder. Read what
others here are telling you. But make up your own mind on how you
feel.

Good advice.
From John Milton's "Areopagitica" (1644) [Appleton- Century Crofts; New
York:1951] ...
p. 14 " ... the example of Moses, Daniel, and Paul, who were skilful in the
learning of the Egyptians, Chaldeans, and Greeks, which could not possibly
be without reading their books of all sorts, in Paul especially, who thought
it no defilement to insert into Holy Scripture the sentences of three Greek
poets, and one of them a tragedian ..." (Acts 17:28 from Aratus; 1
Corinthians 15:33 from Euripides; Titus 1:12 from Epimenides)
p. 17 "Solomon informs us that much reading is a weariness to the flesh,
but neither he nor other inspired author tells us that such or such reading
is unlawful: yet certainly had God thought good to limit us herein, it had
been much more expedient to have told us what was unlawful than what was
wearisome."
p. 21 " ... a wise man will make better use of an idle pamphlet than a fool
will do of sacred Scripture."
p.51 "And though all the winds of doctrine were let loose to play upon the
earth, so Truth be in the field, we do injuriously by licensing and
prohibiting to misdoubt her strength. Let her and falsehood grapple; who
ever knew Truth to be the worse in a free and open encounter? Her confuting
is the best and surest suppressing."

God WILL bend us all to His will when He returns...EVERY knee will
bow, even those that go to hell. Also, I said it is as SATAN would
see it, not Christians. Satan hates God and sees Him as a cruel
dictator, just as Megatron is in this film. Satan doesn't really CARE

Further, angels don't "hide" among us (as if they were afraid), being

My son, while a "child," is also quite capable intellectually, of devising
his own defense. I am going to let him read this from Ken - have blocked the
flamers and deleted their posts, as he doesn't need to read that crap and
become inflamed. But with Ken, at least, he has a fellow Christian to
discuss things with.
My son is age 16 - intellectually, the teachers say he is "16 going on 30,"
which in his case is not an insult; his reading comprehension has gone so
far above high school level that they are putting him in several college
prep classes (in English, Science and History) in the coming year. They
wanted him to do it in his Sophomore year, but he said he wasn't ready for
the challenge. Over the summer, he's reading a lot of diversified books,
from Science Fiction/Fantasy to Mysteries, Drama, Prose and
Action/Adventure. He's very widely-read and I appreciate what a finely tuned
mind he has. He's not caught up in the drama's of highschool crushes or
drugs and alcohol abuse and finds such things to be trite and meaningless.

also the way that Satan sees our world (thus, Scientology is Satanism

Here is my son's response:
Megatron is the evil. He is the bad guy. I saw the movie, I saw no
mention
of a coming overlord. Megatron is a personification of Satan. Megatron
crashed to the Earth. So did Satan. Megatron tried to take over Earth,
and
the home planet of the Transformers. He wishes to bend the humans to his
rule. This is the way of the devil. This is what Satan wants. He wants
to
bend US to HIS rule. Megatron is Satan, Optimus Prime is a
personification
of Michael, the Archangel. This is pretty much the ultimate showdown
between
Good and Evil. After all, Michael was commanded by God to rid Heaven of
Satan and his minions. Optimus wishes to save the humans. Angels have
hidden
among us, and protected us.
The
Autobots
fight for the weak, while the Decepticons wish to destroy anyone who
fights
them. Michael fought for the weak. Satan tries to destroy them, and make
them suffer with him in hell. Satan wishes to rule the Universe. So does
Megatron. Optimus wishes to save the humans. So does Michael the
Archangel.
Study the story; you'll see my point.

God WILL bend us all to His will when He returns...EVERY knee will
bow, even those that go to hell. Also, I said it is as SATAN would
see it, not Christians. Satan hates God and sees Him as a cruel
dictator, just as Megatron is in this film. Satan doesn't really CARE
if you see things his way or do things his way, so long as you don't
do it God's way, just as is the view of Optimus Prime.
Further, angels don't "hide" among us (as if they were afraid), being
the ones with authority from God. The devil's hide from them.
You really need to read your Bible, again.

You really need to know you are talking to a child who deserves respect
for trying to explain a film to you. This child did very well with his
reply to your post and not ONCE did he tell you to read your Bible again
and you are being pompous when you talk down to him that way.
My son, while a "child," is also quite capable intellectually, of devising
his own defense. I am going to let him read this from Ken - have blocked the
flamers and deleted their posts, as he doesn't need to read that crap and
become inflamed.
So he's 16 years old and he still needs mommy to block and censor what
he reads on the evil internet? Yes, how tragic would it be if he didn't
have you to filter out the "cusswords" for him?
And yet with all that, he apparently believes there's some omnipotent
sky-tyrant hovering overhead who, despite having the power to create an
entire universe with just a thought, is inexplicably concerned with the
minutiae of how and with whom the ant-like beings he created are having
sex.
If he truly does have "a finely-tuned mind", he's not really putting it
to much use when it comes to his superstitious beliefs.

Well, they are at it again. After Spielberg and Cruise made the

Megatron wishes to destroy all who he deems weak. The real question is what
does Satan feel about US? We know how he feels about God. But has the
question really been answered? Over the five years I've had Bibles, I have
read different views on this question. Megatron hates humans. I believe that
since God has shown his devotion to us, Satan does hate us too. God and
Optimus Prime both wish to save the humans. God wants to save us from hell,
while Optimus wants to save us from Megatron, who is a personification of
Satan. Satan and Megatron both despise us humans.
-Tom
Further, angels don't "hide" among us (as if they were afraid), being
the ones with authority from God. The devil's hide from them.
Let me clarify: I don't mean literally that Angels "Hide", I mean that they
are sent here by God to watch and guide us. The devil's "angels" do hide,
and attempt to decieve us. God's Angels are sent here to watch over us, and
protect us from Satan's minions.
-Tom...
You really need to read your Bible, again.
If I have not read my Bible so many times that some scripture bled through
the cracks in my brain, then how would I know God's message without having
to read through the Bible again?
You look down upon me because I am a teenager. Remember the verse: "Be
careful to entertain strangers, for by so doing, some have entertained
Angels unawares." Remember when God visited Sarah and Abraham, and Sarah
laughed for she thought it was beyond God's powers to make her pregnant? Be
careful who you mock, for you mock your brothers and sisters, not only in
Christ, but in humanity.

Boy, this god-thing of yours sounds like one spectacular narcissist. It
supposedly has the power to create the entire universe, has knowledge
that stretches to infinity, yet seems to spend all its time worrying
about being slavishly worshipped.
Talk about a rampaging, out-of-control ego...

So God who, and correct me if I am wrong, is benevolent, omnipotent
and omnipresent would put people in hell? Then why is he benevolent?
Surely God forgives everyone? Jesus sure did.
And as BTR1701 points out if God is basically the creator of
everything he's not really going to care. He can put everyone in hell
and start again...
....I feel that human's own fear of death has caused them to believe
and hope for an afterlife. I know some people just cannot deal with
the possibility that once you are dead then that is it...no
more...zip...nada...
It is hard, but to be honest it makes my life taste so much sweeter.
