I read the an article saying that part of the reason Bush nominated

Teflon Bush (and yes he deserves the name since he can do anything and
get away with it. The man was ripe for being made unemployed.
Probably no president was more ripe for being kicked out of office
than he was in the past 50 years yet his teflon coating let him slide
right through. )
The man can do anything and get away with it. There is no opposition
and the radical religious right has not only managed to stigmatize
the Democratic party by launching and maintaining one of the best
word attacks in modern history thus making the word liberal a death
word, a death label, but they have managed to kick 90% of all
responsible thinking liberals (yes, though rare they did once upon a
time exist)
and moderates from the Republican party.
There is no one who can stop him from doing anything he wants to do,
no one. Not the American people, not any political opposition, no one.
Anything and everything he wants will be approved.
The appointment of this woman to the USSC over scores of men and women
who are actually qualified amounts to a crime, to total disrespect of
the American People, the system of Government we have, the
Constitution of the United States.
There has been a steady decline in qualifications, abilities , etc of
the men who has occupied the oval Office in the past 50 years or so
and this clown represented rock bottom so far.
But, the ultra conservatives, the theocrats have dons their work well
over the past 45 years and he is benefitting from the ground work they
have laid.
This man has gone though two elections but there is valid information
to suggest, at the least he may never have been legally elected either
time.
But that is part of the ground work the other side laid, don't think
their won't be other questionable elections coming up as well
They used to call Nixon King Richard. Not even close, The present
situation is the closet we have ever been to a true dictator and to
actually overthrowing our system of government in our Constitutional
history.
There are no longer any checks and balances on any level. The entire
federal government is in the hands of one political party and that
party is in the hands of the extremists, the theocrats.
Most state governments are in the hands, partly or wholly of that
same political party.
They are selling this woman on her religion, where she goes to church
etc. That tells you all you need to know about who she is going to
side with on cases she sits on.
A O'Conjnor she isn';isn't nor will ever be.
There is something very sick and sad when a lawyer like Jay Sekulow of
the ACLJ is openly working to get her nominated and freely claims he
has x number of cases coming before the USSC this term.
They aren't even hiding anymore that they are totally flaunting the
American system of government, the Constitution, rubbing it in the
face of the American people.
Do you hear an outcry from the American People? Nope!
It has been said that people get the type of government they want and
deserve.
