Object: 1st Annual "Guess the Corp. Media Gush Hype" Contest
Is anyone aware of the issue currently being gush hyped by the corp.
media?
Here are a couple hints that should give it away.
The corp. whores are now almost in full gush hype mode. What appears
as one syllable in Websters now has two or three syllables. The
current gush hype has been in the making for at least 4 years in the
form of wishful thinking, and some preliminary trial balloon gushing
was tried several times over the past couple of years, but it only
really started to ramp up after November elections.
Remember: they can only gush hype one issue at a time; they know they
cannot confuse their audience with more than one gush hype issue.
The first poster to guess the current gush hype gets a free can of
cheap beer.

This wasn't originally intended to be a really competitive contest --
anyone can turn on the 6:00 news and figure it out -- but now that you
mention it, we could have advanced categories.
2=2E The Gush Hype Lampooned Most By Jon Stewart: Prize: 2 cans of
cheap beer
3=2E The Gush Hype Requiring the Most Number of Extra Syllables:
Prize: 1 bottle of cheap wine.
4=2E (Make up your own category)

So =A0what is a GUSH hype?

Here are the two most famous examples from the past two decades:
"The imPOOORTANT flag burner issue."
"9/11 changed EEEEVVVerything!"
If it takes more than 50 microseconds to identify the gush hype du
jour, well, you've been living on another planet.
