I am writing a dissertation on the topic of A = A,Frege's puzzle, the
law of identity, at Cardiff University.
NOW if any of you bastards, and you know who you are, have stolen any
of the ideas I put out on the topic of A = A on this and other
newsgroups, and presented them as your own work in journals or as
dissertations, then its your arse and I'm coming after you. I am
checking all recent work on these topics. DO NOT expect any mercy if I
find the worst, and do not regard this post as a joke.

Welcome back. I wouldn't worry about anyone stealing your ideas - they are
never clear and there is a lot to be said for clarity. Keep in mind that you
knicked your ideas from those who came before you; so don't be the pot and
the kettle.

A doesn't have to = anything, A just is A.
Two seperate entities can not exist in the same space at the same time,
so A is always, will always be, just plain ol A.
Each entity has its nature and that entity acts according to its
nature.
Now what exatly is it that you dont want people to copy?

I have already emailed him, six months ago. I said that I suspected he
was about to nick my thoughts on A=A. He responded by calling me a
troll on alt.phil.
He failed to respond to any of my google posts on this and similar
topics just before announcing his new ideas on A=A. I regarded this as
suspicious. I thought he was a bit of an unimaginative educated slime
ball, conceited, and morally weak. I am concerned about it all.

instead of flying off at the handle with your accusations you should consult
your local authorities (i.e. a campus councilor) about your concerns.
otherwise you might find yourself getting into trouble or at the very least
having no case.

All my ideas on A=A etc, are archived on Google, where they can be
viewed. Most are hastily written and show unfamiliarity with the
academic position, but nevertheless they contain some good original
material, which is hard to come by elsewhere on this topic. I don't
think BThu is up to developing radical new stuff himself, for all his
scholasticism, but I know that I am. So I am not a happy bunny. I am
doing an MA dissertation in Cardiff, so that boys arse will be on fire
if I find out he's up to no good, but I don't know his name. He said on
alt.phil. that he was going to present new ideas on A=A at a conference
earlier this year.

There's no puzzle over the law of identity. A thing is always the same
as itself - that's just a grammatical rule (i.e. a rule for the use of
words). Trust a philosopher of maths to take a simple idea and
complicate it to the point of nonsense.
