Abramhoff/Lobby Scandal Affirms Cynicism |
Does today's headline provide some evidence that our System works?
Yeah, I guess it does such, and for this we should all be grateful to
the gods of integrity and the very complex U.S. Constitutional,
political, and legalistic process.
So, why am I nevertheless so pessimistic/cynical?
The indian casino lobbying political influence scandal was fragmentally
known by most of we
political junkie newspaper readers for at least the past year or
more--perhaps 2-3-4 years or more or less.
So, the System ultimately works for the public
good or not?
Yes & no.
Is it really an Aegean Stable thing?
By-gosh-damne it seemingly is.
What do I mean?
Well, the cheaper-priced "Hercules bicycle" brake and gear were cruddy
in comparison to a pristine mechanically-sound Schwinn.
Huh?
Hey, since philosophy/ethics thinkers are exasperating to me with their
fancy-***** convoluted ideas, logic, and allusions, then I thus do my
snotty b.s.ing too.
What?
It's an imperfect System, very subject to snafu-delay-injustice
inherently.
But it works?
Yeah, like that New Orleans levee.
But the bad guys get caught?
Of course they do just like on (traditional) tv.

A lot of commentators have been pointing out such scandals won't do
much to save the Democrats. The Dems need to be FOR something good,
not merely AGAINST something bad.
I agree.

re: Hercules bicycles not as good as Schwinn, a strange allusion that I
tried, but ... .
It is highly possible that I have gotten "Hercules" mixed-up with
"Huffy," and this kind of shite happens at the onset of one's dotage.
Here's a coupla other bicycle irrelevancies/nostalgiac rambles:
The U.S. bicycles I recall in my childhood's 1950s consisted of:
Shelby brakes
New Departure brakes
So-called "English bicycles" were of the lightweight kind with gear
shifts and brakes things/levers mounted on the handlebars.
Perhaps Huffy (and Hercules?) were imports from where (?).
For me: The ideal would have been a lightweight bicycle that didn't
have all the gear-shift shite, and the brakes weren't controlled from
the handlebars.
That's what I needed, and I think there were some sold, but I didn't
get one.
Why?
Because anytime I tried to "fix"--repair a tire or anything other than
squirt 3 in 1 oil--I never could get the gosh darn thing back together
right.
Imports were seemingly sold at fabulous, fabulous Zayre's-- perhaps
just coming into imports being.
Thus my initial experience with "globalism" didn't go well.
For instance:
One-time I had not well-tightened the front wheel, and fell staight
forward on the pavement.
My chin literally made direct contact with the pavement.
To be less dishonest:
It's possible the bicycle I wrecked-on wasn't an import or English
style lightweight.
I was a shitey mechanic at age 8-10, and still am.

When I have difficulty getting a bicycle onto a flight I always say,
"if it weren't for bicycle mechanics there weren't be any such thing as
aviation or pnumatic tires.."
This works.
