Advanced soul. |
I just watched a brief excerpt from the Steve Irwin memorial.
If you want to see an advanced soul at work, listen to his eight year old
daughter reading her homage..BLOODY BEAUTY.....

hey Brian;
Until I read farther down this thread, I assumed the man was
joking....However, given the nature of some of the other posts in this
forum, his "comment of disagreement" was at least mildly clever and not
personally insulting.
Steve Irwin has the same last name as me, wish I'd seen his daughter's
words as well...Enthusiam in your line of work is a "good thing", the
man had that!!! Without having known him, I credit him with sincerity
also, just a feeling...

Here's Bindi's words:

Couldn't help noticing the obvious "strained" look on Terri's face.

It would have "thrown" a lot of people Tracey. They would have worried that
she wasnt emotional or distressed enough.
I have had such experiences where family friends and clergy needed to
"put a young friend of mine 'right' " ..after his mother had died.
His awareness was ay beyong his so called "elders". They needed him to need
them.:-)

Yes, sentience is an inate sense of consciousness, as such evidence for
such a quality is the ability to enquire.
Thus far you have not, yourself, demonstrated that ability.
Now, you have used the concept soul. Can you explain what it is about
your reception of such a notion that a child might have such a thing?
Further, you might like to suggest how it is that a child might choose
its own parents!
Now that I have proved my sentience, perhaps you would like to shown

No. Not to you, because you are obnoxious. Your intellect is
overshadowed by your general rudeness to others. I dont communicate
with rude people because I find there tends to be alot of bigotry
involved and bigots are most infuriating to me.

Authentic self.??? You might have to unpack that statement. Most people
mean something that is transcendant and incorporeal - is that part of
your definition?
My main question was how is it that an unborn child can choose its own
parents? If the soul is yet unborn how can it be authentic?
(unless your definition of authentic is original or genuine rather than
in the sense of authorship)

It was the "little" that put a smile on my face.Like the man from brussels,
6'5 and full of muscles...but thats only my body :-)
People are always talking from the position of "authentic self" without
realizing it. They casually refer to "their" body or :their" mind. Like all
meaningfull realizations, we get confirmation from our own experiences such
as this minor example

Those definitions are used when people refer to "their soul" which creates
the environment for future discovery, usually after death.A mental
projection, by definition, an illusion.
The reasom S.I's daughter evoked my comments was the fact that she was
"here and now", not in the past or future, not caught up in emotions,
inspirational and blissful.
Attributes of "soul".
My main question was how is it that an unborn child can choose its own
parents? If the soul is yet unborn how can it be authentic?
To be receptive to a meaningful answer, you have to start (if you haven't
already) recognising that you are responsible for all the events in your
life. Students of "great masters" dont show up one day, ask the question,
get the answer and float away in a blissful mist.
(unless your definition of authentic is original or genuine rather than
in the sense of authorship).
Original and genuine are good definitions. How often do you feel that......?
See why my comment regarding rudeness as a reaction to others was relevant?
Original and genuine act, not react.

My original comment was not rude but dismissive. Her reaction in
calling into question my sentience was overblown and unnecessary.
Original and genuine act, not react.
Thanks for taking my questions seriously. I accept that the soul is
most likely illusory. When people die they really seem to die. I do
find myself inwardly talking to dead people and i imagine their
answers. You might know what I mean: people that have died but were
close enough that their memory has not yet faded. I hold an image in my
memory that can express itself. It might be my grandmother smiling at
me or telling me to wrap up warm in the winter. Beyond that people are
dead and gone.
But I cannot accept that a child can chose its own parents. Such an
idea is utterly anachronistic. I wanted to know if she was being poetic
or whether or not she was reflecting upon some strange beleif system.

Can you prove that there is ANYTHING remotely sentient about you?
Yes, sentience is an inate sense of consciousness, as such evidence for
such a quality is the ability to enquire.
Thus far you have not, yourself, demonstrated that ability.
Now, you have used the concept soul. Can you explain what it is about
your reception of such a notion that a child might have such a thing?
Further, you might like to suggest how it is that a child might choose
its own parents!
Now that I have proved my sentience, perhaps you would like to shown
yours?
No. Not to you, because you are obnoxious. Your intellect is
overshadowed by your general rudeness to others. I dont communicate
with rude people because I find there tends to be alot of bigotry
involved and bigots are most infuriating to me.
But I haven't been rude to you. I only respond with rudeness to people
who have been rude to me.
Now, how about my questions..
Now, you have used the concept soul.

Someone who brings "little pricks" into a converstation and blames others
for their own rudeness is hardly likely to be receptive to such
explanations.
There we have it!!
But just in case, "soul" is the authentic self.
Tone is often lost in text. I called you a ***** becasue you seemed to
be sucking up to the ladies. Sort of a joke.
Yes, tone is lost in text and especially in usenet. But ***** is *****
after all!
I dont mind guys I like "sucking up to me"
And put off by people who use a tone akin to sarcasm or aggression when
I have an opinion or belief system - like anyone else.

Actually she started the abuse. I quote,"Can you prove that there is
ANYTHING remotely sentient about you? "
Now, if that is not sitting on a high horse and being a madam I don't
know what is!!
I responded by proving my sentience and inviting her to prove hers by
answering 2 simple questions.

Why the two question marks, if not an intent to abuse and humiliate?

I was enjoying your post, until the last line - oh well!! Funny how we
feel we can judge people's acumen from lines of words in a usenet group.

Oh come on Tracy, children do not choose their parents, so pick your
bottom lip up off the floor and move on.
Chaz is a stupid dishonest hypocrite and has nothing but absolute
arrogant audacity to question the motives ideas and philosophy of any
religious mystic.

I'm actually a really very nice person, I am never rude to nice people

well done, there's not too many on here who acheive that.

I dont know of anyone who acts 'rudely' that doesnt blame someone else for
their actions.
I respect that, because we each chose the environment suitable for our next
stage of development be it next life or next wilfe....(...yes...including
our parents did).Of course, this all happens "unconsciously", until the
individual is finally ready to "wake up to themsleves and the mysteries of
life".
Remember the apparent contradiction between the Biblical statement (that
most people acknowledged these days) between reaping and sewing, and that of
the "sins of the fathers" etc....put the two together and "bingo"....
Just so happens that '7' applies to generational cycles and "this life"
cycles also.
