Americans say Doh!! |
The only thing that distinguishes the first world with the third world is the
provision of health and education.
THe role of government is to provide business with a healthy and educated
workforce.
As there is a natural tendancy in capitalist systems to polarise wealth: so
that ultimately (without intervention) one person will control all wealth and
the rest would rely on that person's distributing the wealth downwards, it is
necessary for democratic governments to tax the rich more that the poor to
provide health and education to those that would not otherwise be able to
afford it.
Those most in need of education are children. CHildren have no wealth. People
need education BEFORE they have to ability to pay for it themsleves. As family
structure has been shaken over the last few decades, and there have always been
children whose parents were incapable or unwilling to provide for them, it is
the duty of government NOW more than EVER to provide education and health care
for its citizens. The USA is cutting this provision.
Elections are being won on the promise of less taxes, less welfare. Sadly the
average American seems to short sighted to look beyond his/her next pay packet,
whilst ignoring the widescale tax fraud and corporate tax benefits bestowed on
the rich. Wake up !!!

In economics and politics, a mixed economy is an economy which combines regulated
free market capitalism and a limited number of socialist institutions and state
ownership of some sectors of the economy such as
social security
environmental regulation,
labor regulation,
product safety regulation,
progressive taxation
public education
health care
Most democratic countries, including the United States, have mixed economies. It
is nearly impossible to have pure capitalism (the government regulates nothing)
or pure socialism (the government runs everything), but the term mixed economy is
generally used when an economy has reasonably significant portions of both
socialism and capitalism.

Therefore the post up to here was a vieled demonization for the sake of who
know's what.
