Object: ego
How can I control 'you' if you don't have an ego?
How can I criticize and reward you for doing what
I want? How can I talk about you? How can I hurt
several people at once by calling the class to which
I have assigned them is one which they do not
"identify" with? If I say "niggers" are bad, what happens
if everyone says "I'm not a '*****'. I don't know any
any 'niggers' and your words are meaningless. I'm a
person and '*****' comes from your own sick past.
What if 'white trash' didn't apply to anyone because
they refused to accept the label? What if everyone
refused to be controlled by someone else's label of
'you' or their name?

Does freedom from limitation require anonymity...
lack of an identity or label?
Does the deliberate use of power or "control" require
the "powerful" to have an identity... as an authority figure?
Do we assign labels to powerful forces...
such as "nature", particular human "personalities" or "egos",
the instinctive behavior of humans and other animals...
because nameless, sourceless forces are too terrifying?
Does any of that make sense? :-)

Maybe it's that one doesn't have to be anonymous but to
recognize the down side of personal labels and not identify
with the label. The powerful do not have to be labeled as
such but the label can add to the power, called authority
or reputation... It is good to label so that we can think about
things, no? The nameless is more fearful, I think, but I don't
really want to think about fear evoking things. It makes
sense to me, yes.
